Board: /qst/

"/qst/ - Quests" is 4chan's imageboard for grinding XP.

Welcome to /quest/ - Quests

This board is for author-driven collaborative storytelling (i.e., "Quests"). In a quest there is a single author who controls the plot of the story and who drives the creative process. They can choose to take suggestions from other posters, or not, at their sole discretion. Quests can be text-based, image-based, or a combination of the two. Drawfaggotry is strongly encouraged!

To facilitate the author-driven nature of quests, /qst/ differs significantly from other boards in that the OP of a thread is considered the quest's author, and has some basic text formatting abilities: [b], [i], and color tags [red], [green], and [blue]. Therefore, only those people willing to put in the effort to be a quest author should post threads. If you do not intend to run a collaborative story, do not post a thread here! This includes meta-threads.

Dice rolling follows /tg/'s format (e.g., "dice+2d6" without the quotes in the options field rolls 2d6).

You are Alabaster Soliloquy, human tank and quickshot.

PREVIOUSLY:
-You and Rose squared off against Russian mobsters in a shootout. In the heat of the moment, you almost said something to Rose that can't be taken back, but she rebuffed you in the most hurtful possible way.
-Rose scored the decisive shot on their capo, Stasi Lebedev, but it's Tyrus who got the spoils -- he discovered an ocular implant in the gory remains.
-You rescued Rose2, who had been taken hostage, and rendezvoused with Kay to make your escape.
-At Mom's house, you determined to get some protection, not only for yourself, but for everyone who matters to you.
-Rose2, for her safety, moved in with you at Whitney's mansion.
-At Gal's loft, you met back up with Sable. In between her deranged rambling, she revealed that she wants to destroy Darkbloom Analytics and deliver the awesome power of Sand Reckoner to the people of the world.
-You confronted Alex over his secret plotting with Sable. He defended himself and begged for you help, which you promised him -- for now.
-At home, you tried to defray the war of the Roses with a little physical diplomacy between the two.
-You and Rose were detained by Noelle on suspicion of being involved with the shootout at Tyrus's club. She seemed to have you dead to rights, but suddenly her superiors ordered her to release the two of you.
-Cerise went missing -- or more accurately, Darkbloom went missing. Rose deduced that Vivian helped him engineer the escape.
-Saul legally disowned you, in preparation for drastic measures -- a marriage between you and Rose designed to protect you with the invocation of spousal privilege.

Commentarii de Bello Indica - CAPVT VIII-γ

Caesar
"I am beginning to think you are trying to suffocate me with decorations. I wasn't half as dressed up when meeting a king."

The captain's quarter - more of a hall, really, given the absolutely decadent amount of space here - is a rush of activity. Two silent women, the only survivors among the Princess of Suerna's train of handmaidens, busy their hands in rearranging your hair and the folds of your billowing robes of Tyrian silk with deft, experienced fingers. Micah is sat there blanching at the costs of it all, from the perfumes - "Single use items!" he mutters under his breath, abacus in one hand - to the custom-fitted robe of royal-purple trimmed with leaves of gold. And at the head of this maelstrom of activity is Lynius: playboy, logistician, socialite.

"You'll live," he says sweetly. "No one has died of being overdressed, as far as I know. Now turn around a little - yes, just like that. We need the hair to look just right. We are not dealing with some old king, my dear boy. We are dealing with a representative from the Atridae. Their reach is almost as big as the Harkonni, which makes them a trifle larger in my estimation of them than some local petty king."

"As big as us," you correct.

"I don't work for the bloated Harkonni toads, dear," Lynius sniffs with disdain. "I worked for your father, as did all of the crew. Not for the Harkonni, not for you, only for your father. Remember that. Now would you bend a little here so we can apply some more powder on your left cheek?"

These oriental Greeks and their strange customs!

Scrivener stifles a laugh at your discomfiture. Lynius shoots him a withering look, but the archivist of the Legion is much too blunt a man to take to such subliminal messages. "It has been some time since I've been to the threatre. You would make a great hypokrites, Alexandros. Half the people are there to ogle at beautiful men, anyway." His smile removes any barb there might have been from his compliment.

Hermann's face is etched with dislike. "Powder is for women," he says. "It makes men weak, as it weakened the Gauls. No offence to you, father."

"Father in law," Ambiorix growls. "Never in my harem-filled days did I father some Germanni-"

"Dad!"

"-but I'm sure Germans are very nice people, if you get to know them," stutters the Gaulish chieftain after being ribbed by his daughter. It is your turn to choke down laughter, carefully exhaling to prevent the jar of powder in front of you clouding up by some errant outward breath. Ever since Hermann's marriage with Aisling, poor Ambiorix has been glum about being related with a German. Ancestral dislike from centuries of being raided does not go away all that easily, not for that proud man.

Please Don’t Isekai a NEET Into a Wargame!

C2NZQpYUsAACK--
“Hey, wake up already!”

A finger rudely pokes your forehead, rocking your head back and forth until you finally decide to mumble a weak reply. “Azuki you little... I told you I’ll study later.” Just because you failed your entrance exam doesn’t mean you need to spend every waking moment of your life mulling over it. You wish your little sister got that already~

“Wake up!” someone cries out in an unfamiliar voice, shaking you violently now, “Please don’t tell me I spent my life savings on a hibernating ape!”

“Nnnn...” Wait, something is wrong. You finally open your eyes and bolt upright to see someone you’ve never seen before! Speaking of things you’ve never seen before, you’re also in someone else’s room in their bed, their belongings haphazardly strewn about the floor, desk, and every surface imaginable except you! “Huh?! What the hell?! Where am I?” Backing away from the strange girl in strange clothes, you feel your back hit the wall where a poster was taped up. You don’t have time to study it now, rather, your attention’s affixed to her strange hair color.

“Oh thank goodness, you can even speak! Then... I have a chance after all!” Around your age, the girl smooths out her clothes and her hair as she speaks to you. With every word that comes out of her mouth, a hair clip that she wears glows. “I am XXXXXX, and I summoned you to assist me!”

“Sorry, what? I didn’t catch that name.”

“XXXXXX!” You and her are held in a deadlock as neither one wants to continue. Slowly, she says, “Cee, tawuu, ennzuu.” She taps her hair clip. “Is this thing working?”

“Cituenzu?” you repeat.

She awkwardly laughs and shrugs. “Okay, close enough.”

>”Can you send me back? I, uh, have important things to do.”
>”Did you kidnap me? I’m going to call the police.”
>Loudly scream for help.
>”I’m very confused and would be very relieved if you explained this as quickly as possible.”
>Write-in.

Bioweapon Hunter Quest 30

Bioweapon Hunter Quest OP alt
In the far future, biotechnology advances by leaps and bounds, creating stunning achievements in medical, civil, and military applications. Illness becomes a thing of the past, and genetic modification is as commonplace as cosmetic surgery.

However, like all great advances, unchecked progress and experimentation has led to abuse and corruption. Ultra powerful megacorporations that monopolized the latest biotech have risen to be the great powers of the age, waging secret wars of sabotage, espionage, and deceit to get ahead of each other.

In order to fuel their rampant growth, megacorps develop lethal diseases and viruses, horrific bio-organic abominations, and ever more exotic genetic modifications to both sell to the highest bidder and unleash upon each other.

The rampant proliferation of bioweapons, and the need to contain them, has given rise to a new profession, the BIOWEAPON HUNTER.

You are LEWIS, a Hunter specializing in hunting down biological threats with your T-Doll companion HK!

Right now, you were sitting in the back of a helicopter as it extracted you away from what was left of your family home, now a smoking ruin and swarming with mercenaries out for your head.

With you were Springfield and HK. HK was completely fine, though Springfield had taken some rather serious damage. On the opposite end, there was Nemo, flanked by a pair of T-Dolls that you didn't recognize at all. They both wore black jackets with yellow hazard trim, but other than that bore no identifying features or marks.

"I know this may seem really confusing to you, but I promise everything will be explained when we get to our destination." Nemo mumbles.

>You have a TON of questions to ask.

The Quest of the Branded Ones 3

tegaki
In the previous tale, our merry group met with one of Ursd's old friends - Orrin, the Runekeeper, who summoned a Spirit of Life to befriend their new civilization. It gave them a seed of Yggdrasil. Now the heroes prepare to enter a dwarven ruin to find any form of shelter or treasure.

------

Edgar's finger was barely about to press a switch before Ursd's hand grabbed his wrist, Ursd's other hand waving a "no."

"Aw, please? How will we know what happens unless we're willing to press it?" Edgar asked as Ursd released him.

"It could very well summon sentries, Prince." Orrin said, walking towards them. "Could be an alarm button for the workers. Could call for Dwarves to attend us. Could be anything."

"But how will we know unless we try it?" Edgar asked, his fingers twitching.

"We will DECIDE to press the buttons if WE do so." Ursd frowned.

"...For once, Edgar might be right." Ana said, walking up behind them. "We're all well prepared. Besides..."

She looked up at Ursd, touching him with her right hand. He got the message. She and he were immortal, even if Edgar and Orrin didn't know SHE was. He nodded, then walked up to the button.

>Press the button yourself.
>Decline. Let's explore the area a bit more.
>Ask Orrin about possibilities before making a decision.
>Check to see if the button leads anywhere.
>Write in.

Gun x Glory! #2

gunxgloryplaceholderbecauseidonthavealogo
Link to last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/3431363/

The year is 2030, and competitive gaming is a worldwide phenomenon.

The world has come far from the days where professional gaming is stigmatized, stadiums erected in the name of physical sports soon being repurposed into stadiums for competitive games. From high octane first-person shooters to intense rhythm games – everything is accepted in this world where games reign supreme.

You, however, aren’t concerned with that at the moment. Yesterday was a long day for you, so you’ll recap what you know.

Your name is Wolfgang O’Neal. You are a former professional player of the game Warscape, however after you were found to have cheated in the biggest game of your life, you withdrew from the scene and now run an arcade. Yesterday had been normal until a girl known as 0phelia came in, knowing of your identity and presenting an ultimatum – either you play her in a match, or she leaks your location to the internet. The conditions of the match are simple – if you win she leaves, but if she wins you have to join her team. After a bit of contemplation, you accepted – and not only that, but you won. Due to this, she stormed out of your establishment with rage, as she believed you to be cheating in that match as well. Soon after that, you went to meet with your landlord at a local bar, at which you found out that 0phelia had been broadcasting your match to the public regardless. Furious, you stormed out of the bar and received a call from her, still probing you to join her team. After putting her on blast, you return to your arcade and close it for the day, confiding in a close friend named Cinder about everything that had happened soon after. Once you had done a bit of background research on 0phelia, Cinder convinced you to stay until the very late hours of the night and watch her play Warscape.

So yeah, it had been a long day. Luckily for you, today is a brand new one, and you’ve just woken up to face it! What do you do?

>Get out of bed and get ready, you need to be at work in an hour.
>Try and squeeze in a few extra minutes, you would need them.
>Scream into your pillow upon remembering everything that had transpired yesterday.

Last Man on Earth Quest

chenyang-huang-dws-052
Just a note, i've never QM'd before nor played D&D, so this probably won't go well. I don't have any plans, any notes or anything like that. I'm just doing this to see how it goes, so don't take it too seriously.

Your name is John. You're a fat, 21 year old NEET living with your parents.

You wake up in your room. You can't see the time on your alarm clock from this angle, but the light in the window tells you the sun is already up.
You had some really weird dreams last night, but that's nothing unusual and the memories of them are already fading away.
Yawning, you sit up and look around your room. Directly in front of you is your battlestation.
A single monitor with a laptop on the side and a stack of electronics hooked up to your tower beside them both, including a stereo receiver, VCR/DVD player combo, digital TV tuner and two consoles. The desk is covered in trash and dirty dishes. This is where you typically spend most of your day.
To your right is your closet, and beside that is a shelf full of manga, anime, games and movies.
The door to your room is closed and locked, as usual. You've always hated being intruded upon.

It's time to start your day. What do you do?
>Check the internet
>Play videogames
>Get breakfast

Kingdom of Animals #3

The Animal Kingdoms
Welcome back to the Kingdom of Animals!
You are a race of animals who have been given sentience, and are now set of on crafting a nation for your people. Will you rule with peace, trade, or an army and iron will? Let the story unfold and see whose nation will be left standing.

The animal's aren't anthropomorphic per se, but usually are animals that can be imagined standing on their hind legs, so it isn't derpy (kinda like some of the animals in Narnia)

Brown - Tsardom (Platypus)
On year 3, month 3
Cyan - Aldaketaren (Chameleon)
On year 3, month 5
Red - Xochiluatl (raptors)
On year 3, month 3
Black - Urduk-Glarr (chimpanzees)
On year 3, month 4
White - Pudovskin (bears)
On year 3, month 5
(If you choose to start now, you'll begin at the start of year 3)

Use the template to get started:
“Name”
Race:
Color:
Location:
Capital: (Only include if you have one)

Natural ability 1:
Natural ability 2:

Items: (what you have that isn't considered part of any of the stats)

Power:
Defense:
Food: 50
Population: 100/175
Tech:
Magic:
Culture:

Lore:

Choose an animal and then two abilities that you would like them to have, once posted we will work out how they work in game.

Claim one hex, each hex adjacent to that hex is also claimed by your nation.

new nations start with 100 population and 50 food.

Each turn will equal a month of progress.
There will be 6 months in a year. At the end of the year a world event may trigger. Also at the end of the year, half your food (rounded up) and add it to your population

You will have two actions for each of your turns. A turn is equal to a month. You will use a d100 to roll to see how well you will do, adding the stats that apply.

Explanation of stats:

Power - when being aggressive or dealing with a problem that requires a military force you can add this number to your rolls.

Defense - protecting your nation from a harmful event. Or defending it from others you can use this number and add it to your rolls.

Food - this is how much food you have for your people to eat. At the end of each year, you will receive population equal to ½ of your food. If your food is ever reduced to half of your population or lower your nation starts starving and you will lose population every month till it rises above half of your population.

Population -this number represent how many individuals live within your nation. If this number ever reaches 0 your nation is destroyed.

Tech -This number represents how well your nation can use technology to their advantage. This is a misc modifier that can be added to a variety of rolls.

Magic -This number represents how well your nation has a hold on magic and the use of it. This is a misc modifier that can be added to a variety of rolls.

Culture- This number represents how advanced your society is in governance and leadership. Use in rolls for tribal creation, entertainment, art, etc.

Drowned Quest 8

drowned quest 8
You are Ellery Routh, more or less. You were sentenced to execution via drowning. Needless to say, it didn't take.
Right now, you are making an ill-informed decision: namely, to participate in a research experiment run by a giant crab. It's basically your usual day.

>|Blood: 3/10|
>|Mind: 6/10|

You wage an imaginary game of chicken with yourself. You lose.

"Okay," you say. "Yeah, I guess I kind of have to be."

Foursarre the crab is already pulling something out from behind the curtain. You're more concerned with the curtain. It's an ordinary shade of brown, not blue. It appears to be roughly woven. Did the crabs make it? Why? If not, where did it come from? Do materials disintegrate underwater like they probably ought to, or is there something preserving them? Or is it made of a special kind of cloth--

Hey. Look sharp.

Something you've never seen before is placed deferentially into your open hands. Two stiff leather-ish straps wrap around each other to form what could be a helmet or a very poor bucket. A thick bundle of color-coated wires trail from what must be the back, judging by the small adjustable buckle on the front.

I don't... I feel like this is a really bad idea, but that just makes me want to do it more.

Which is the root of all of your problems, you think, but you nevertheless run a thumb across one of the straps.

He sounds hurt. I never said it *wasn't*. You don't have to be smug about it, okay. I know you're being smug--

"THIS IS FOR YOUR HEAD," Foursarre rumbles. "PLEASE PUT IT ON. YOU WILL COME TO NO HARM."

--which I don't think is warranted, like, at all-- oh, hold on. What?

You cough-in-quotation-marks again. You will never get used to that. The voice that nearly belongs to you says: "Uh, okay. I don't-- I'm not sure it'll do much good. I mean, it's not... I'm not a crab, I guess. Well, that one-- I'm not a crab, so I'm not sure it really translates... but if you say so, I mean--"

You're not sure Foursarre understood any of that. It doesn't matter. You've already slid the strap-contraption onto your head, where it neatly bifurcates your shock of hair. You make a mental note to obtain a comb at some point.

Okay, that's just mean. I like it how it is, okay? It's distinctive.

It is distinctive. You're sorry for Arledge, who's presumably listening to all of this. You're sorry for-- has Madrigal been hearing everything for the past, what-- five days? Six? Seven? Is your connection still functioning? Is there a range limit? There better be a range limit.

"Are you okay?" Arledge sounds like he's speaking through a can on a string. "I heard my name--"

"Oh, uh, yeah. I'm fine." You pluck at the buckle on the contraption. "It hasn't started. I think it's going to fairly..."

There's a bizarre little musical jingle. "DO NOT PANIC IF YOUR FACULTIES ARE IMPAIRED, ELLERY ROUTH," Foursarre says. "IT IS MERELY TEMPORARY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION."

Oh, boy.

Dark Souls: Forossa

Title
It is nothing more than a land of constant war. Forossa as it was named. To the distant east, hundreds of years after the long era of unlaw that followed the fall of it's past Kingdom, Forossa was again brought to order by the Tsardom, and for many many years it did rule henceforth as the center of all power and culture in the whole world.

But it could not last, for the Age of Fire was coming to a close again, and the Age of Dark was inevitable. Now, the Tsardom is but a shell of it's former self, and few bastions of civilization remain.

A bloody infection from Jursa Island spreads, Demons migrate from the north to fuel a new Chaos using a dead God's corpse, and the Abyss grows in the south from a shard of primeval darkness, empowered by primordial entities.... And the once great, powerful God of War has abandoned his people and vanished completely....

But unlike those cycles that preceded the current, something stirs to the far east....

Panzer Commander Quest #47

Dust specks flickered in the dull yellow light of the hotel room, glowing from a weathered shaded bulb that hung over an even further beaten table. A pair of people played a game of chess on this table- neither liked the accommodations much, but did not mind them, either. For they were not to be here for long- especially as one was about to neatly end the game.

“Checkmate.” The victor was a handsome young man, who ever wore a sly grin and a playful glint in his eyes, golden brown locks falling from the top of his head like clouds over a cliff. “You have improved, Miss Vang.”

His opponent was a woman younger than he, young enough that some would scarcely call her an adult at all. Yet her eyes told of harshly learned experience. Were one to remove the black gloves upon her hands, they would find her palms and fingers rent by terrible scars, but otherwise, she had the look of a fresh faced youth, one that would not be unexpected to be found tittering about fashion and blushing at men such as sat across from her. Her appearance could be described as rather mundane, were it not for the faint shadow of a small scar on her jaw and the eyepatch she wore; largely for decoration than need to keep anything hidden or protected. She had finished a short and tired sigh. “Not enough to beat you, though, huh.”

“That would have been truly shocking, but do not pretend as though my compliment is undeserved,” the handsome man began rearranging the pieces upon the chessboard, “Your technique is a leap beyond what I left you with- you are thinking ahead to a much greater degree. It is truly reassuring that you improve and learn on your own. The daughter matches her father; were it not that he kept you so sheltered from the world, you might have become a force to match him in little time.”

“Why are you here, Loch,” the woman crossed her eyes and stared through her guest, “I am lonely and you know it. It feels like you’re taunting me by showing up for a chat in the night and a quick game of kings. I want to go to cafes, I want to dance.” She set her finger on her king and tipped it back and forth. “I want to keep wanting that even if, now, what I’ve become wants those desires to be cast off.”

“Mind that your thirst not make you drink from a poisoned well,” the young man set his back row in place, “Nor that your hunger fools you into consuming a clod of earth that you wished to be a truffle.”

The woman shifted in place and frowned, like she felt unjustly lectured. “I’m not that dumb, and I’m pickier than that. I’m not some nobody anymore, I’m one of the most powerful people in Sosalia. If I wanted somebody’s body, I could have them. I don’t want that, though. I want to hold somebody in my arms that knew me before I had all this, this…status, the republic, everything Cyclops has. Somebody who knew me when I was powerless, and would like that…instead of this thing I’m having to become, whose power could evaporate in a heartbeat.”

Fate/City Akeldama Part IX

Fate City Akeldama Part IX
You are Yumigawa Rushorou, one of two surviving competitors in the Holy Grail War. You've just discovered that your remaining enemy's final attack will come the morning of the day after tomorrow.
After waking up in a parking garage in the midst of a burning city, you escaped the dangers of reanimated skeletons, shadowy warriors, and falling rubble to save two other high school students and escape the city. In the process, you made a contract with the revived spirit of an ancient witch to battle six other survivors in a battle to the death known as the Holy Grail War. During the contract process, your body was remade, and you went from an ordinary high-school student into a "conceptual being," a magical quasi-human entity.

The Holy Grail War, as you later learned, is a battle between seven magi, contracted to the spirits of seven heroes of the past, classified as Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Each duo is known as a Master and Servant, and when only one pair remains the two are promised one wish from the omnipotent Holy Grail each. You contracted with Caster initially, and have since seen Saber, Lancer, and Assassin fall in battle. You've also killed the Masters of Saber, Berserker, and Rider, and separated Archer from his Master. Currently you've brought Berserker to your side as well as Caster, while Rider (who's found a new Master in the meantime) and Archer stand against you. You've also been learning magic from Caster, but you're still at the level of a beginner.

Do Your Best Quest #68

1511
Reuniting with Yu Yan brought an unexpected task to you: she wanted to meet with one ex-terrorist WILDFLAME brought to the clinic for unknown reasons, just because he recognized Yu and looked happy before falling unconscious. She didn’t want to do it alone, so she asked for your help to deal with this.

Of course you accepted, not knowing this reunion held a few surprises for you too…

This unknown terrorist was none other than Oliver Watts, one of the terrorists who tried to kidnap Constance in the old Calamity clinic what feels like a long time ago! The other was Dr. Calamity guarding his room, as he still held resentment towards the guy. You would be lying if you didn’t admit the feeling is mutual…

Aside from only two dull sentences from the guy, who you’re starting to believe is an edgelord, it hasn’t been the most informative of chats. Now that Yu Yan mustered the courage to stop hiding behind you and throw herself into the mix, things are about to get interesting…

“Sucks to be you, amigo, but I’m about to rain on your parade…” Yu Yan smirks, but her lowered shoulders and her regretful eyes tell you everything. “You’re not gonna like what you’ll hear next…”

“Hahaha…” Sounds like hopeless laughter. “You gotta be kidding me. They didn’t actually lie…”
“W-What’s gotten into you?” Yu Yan is taken aback by his reaction.
“Spare me the details. You’re nothing but a shadow of your former self.” Oliver waves Yu off, now completely crestfallen. “Rest easy. Everyone you once called your friend is dead – and you with them, in your own way. There’s nothing else to worry about.”

“You act like I gave two shits about you before, pal.”
“You did.” Oliver’s glance doesn’t falter.
“So that’s why you were all sunshine and rainbows when you saw me the first time? Or is there another reason why?”
“Yes. Hope.

“…You can’t possibly say something like that with a straight face.” Yu Yan cringes. If you weren’t wearing your trained poker face quietly, you would be cringing too!
“You look like her, you sound like her… and you sure as hell move like her.” He scans Yu Yan with his eyes, lingering on her legs a moment too long before focusing back on her. “But you’re not her. Not even close.”
“And that’s for better! Good riddance.” Yu Yan shrugs and starts walking towards the door without a care.

“You’re leaving…?” Oliver says, confused and unknowingly echoing your own thoughts.
“Didn’t I leave you before? Why wouldn’t it be easier the second time?” Yu Yan continues to walk to the door, not stopping or slowing down.

Coward.” Oliver hisses without hesitation, holding a gaze both loathing and strangely resigned…

The Big Bad Wolf Quest #5

bf6e841630eaa2af8631e4e05dfb01a7_neropaso
"I'm getting tired of passing out from asphyxiation. I admit that I'm kinky, but not like that. What the hell happened, while I was out, that Red even knew where that was?!" I protest the drive to pick myself off the floor, more engrossed in Kitasawa's rise in understanding. Did Hanami impart her real cloak's whereabouts? She does have the box that I used to store it with. My sister couldn't be that gullible as to obey the brash blonde. Howbeit, Sis did display a fondness for my collared mate.

Mary folds the mantles, pinning them under her forearm. "You're alive?"

"I think I am. Please, answer me," I requested. As I assume myself as a lame plank of wood, I can descry Mary's surface past her skirt; a blue, cotton-used filigree that rides up her bond.

"Your sister let Kitasawa snoop around this pigpen," incurring my sister's displeasure afresh. "Stumbled onto her library within that closet. Didn't know that you had stuffed her cloak inside one of the boxes, as the girl discovered the container which carried her Grimm. Thank God that she didn't put it on right away; once I saw, I bang the butt of my gun onto the gal's skull. Apparently, Hanami cared more for the game then preventing Kitasawa's restoration."

"My room's not a pigpen, Slut! And the games cost way more than what you're worth for each singular cover! You'll have to be careful with them! And I didn't know that her Grimm worked in that way..."

"Doesn't take much to put two and two together. You prioritize those C.D. disks over your room or sense of danger? It's unreal that you were an athlete," the fox jabbed.

"I-I was! But I'll be getting back into shape soon! Just you wait! Only looks support your name while I have authentic accomplishments; triple that even! Looks, accomplishments, and genuine love! Captivation on my little brother won't work any longer now that I'm aware!"

"Since when was I captivating him? Telling from a few signs, I'm his first kiss~ All him, as he's the one that made the first move."

"Going there are we?" Hanami's horns look alive, rearing to impale. "I'm confident that I'm his first-midnight partner! Mind you, he's the one that initiated~ Jealous?"

"Keh! I bet you were like a dead fish," Mary spat.

> "Stop bickering, girls. Do you need a reminder? We have Kitasawa to deal with and the person who flung that arrow."
> "Does it matter who had the first what? I appreciate my confidants."
> Sneak out of the room.
> (another option)

No One Gets Left Behind Quest #16

left behind
You find yourself in the medbay of the ship. For now, it appears Tombs is taking a nap in the corner, with Graves checking on Tierney’s hands. “You know, Tierney, grabbing a Lizard’s mouth and prying it open like a nut isn’t exactly something most people do, did you know that?”

Tierney stares at Graves, a very uncharacteristic look of complete exhaustion and unamusement on her face. “No, Graves. I did not know that. I did it because I didn’t want to risk accidentally shooting the boss, that’s all.” Graves nods, understanding as she rubs some medigel on Tierney’s bleeding hands. Wait, she’s bleeding? How did that happen? Did she cut herself on that Lizard’s teeth somehow? You step further inside, and get their attention. Tierney looks at you, and her eyes immediately light up again. “Oh, hey!” She smiles brightly.

“Hi,” you say, stepping inside. Graves looks at you, quirking her brow. “How you doing?”

“Oh, well,” she says. “My hands just got a little cut up from doing that King Kong shit. You know how it is.” She shrugs, clearly trying to play off what she did. It’s not getting by you though. Something’s off about Tierney. Graves looks at you, then shrugs herself as she starts to wrap Tierney’s hands up in gauze. “It’s nothing too bad, right?”

“Well.” Graves holds Tierney’s hands up. “You won’t be giving any good handjobs any time soon, I can tell you that.” Blood immediately flows into Tierney’s cheeks. She looks away from the both of you. “Oh, no shame. I’m sure Daddy here prefers to have his pole smoked by a nice pair of lips anyway, am I right?” You shake your head. No. You’re not playing this game, no sir. “Come on, give me something here, Daddy.”

“I’ll slap you, maybe that’s what you’re into,” you say.

“See, you joke, but getting slapped on the ass is actually not as bad as you might think,” she says. “Anyway. Tierney’s fine. Just some minor cuts. She’ll heal within the day.” She points to her as well, a stern expression on her face. “Next time, just use a knife or something, babe. Okay?” Tierney nods, a little indignant. “No heroics, seriously. Last thing we need is someone dying because they were trying to…” She looks at you. “Impress someone. Get what I mean?” She looks at Tierney again, a more motherly look on her face.

“Y-… Yeah.” Tierney nods, rubbing her hands idly.

“Don’t rub your hands.” Graves quickly separate’s Tierney’s hands. “Let them rest.” She looks at you. “You gonna hang out in here, Daddy? I could use a little help feeding Joffrey.”

> Help Graves feed Joffrey. Least you could do.
> Speak with Tierney a bit. See what got her into doing that thing with that Steno.
> “Nah, I just wanted to check in on you all, I’ll leave.”

The Cat

Temples
The Cat of Gifu

- JAPAN, GIFU, 1845 -

You are Rin Tsuyami. A sixteen year old sake house waitress and ex circus acrobat. Little does much of Japan know, she also moonlights as the infamous thief “Cat” due to the neatly folded origami cat figures she left behind at her first few crime scenes before she realized it was a bad idea. She started her life of thievery at age 11 as a pickpocket while being an orphan. She lived on the streets of Kyoto for some time surviving on pick pocketed coin bags, begging and part-time work in various whore houses if the women allowed her to work.

All that changed when she picked the pocket of one young man who was quite a bit faster than she expected. A chase throughout the streets of Kyoto ensued. She knocked quite a few things over in the process but impressively much less than her victim anticipated. Her agility and quick reflexes were not missed. She was brought to an encampment set up by a mildly popular travelling circus. There she was taught to move as a gymanst would.

It was not until she was thirteen when she became part of the circus. And when she took note of the usual audience the circus received. Nobles mainly. She wondered why the peasantry rarely, if ever, came to see her and her circus friends perform.

Once she asked why their audience was always so exclusive that’s when she learned of the very different lives the under and upper classes lead. That was when she made a habit of sneaking out at night as her circus group slept to build up the very reputation she now has. Much of what she “earned” was passed on to the lesser financially inclined in whatever community the circus happened to travel to. This went on for a while until her little hobby was discovered. After a bitter confrontation with her group she was banished. A leniency compared to being reported to the authorities.

And now here she was.

Dressed in a white waitress robe and pouring sake into a regular’s cup in the warm, comfy and most of all, welcoming sake house. It’s interior mostly designed in white. It’s a hot summer afternoon and she can hardly wait to tear this robe off of her body. Many in the house are sweating but none as much as her.

“So. Rin. Why haven’t you got a man to take care of you yet?” the regular asks her. This regular just so happens to be an ageing man in his late forties. Not attractive but just average.

“I’m not looking for one right now. Tsugawa-san. Now please. Enjoy your drink.”

He’s not taking her hint. He’s used to being direct.

“Oh please. Time is short.” he says as he reaches his hand behind her and makes a big grab on her soft buttocks.

>A: Slap him.
>B: Smile and tell him to enjoy his drink.
>C: Launch at him, pin him to the floor and shove Rin’s tongue down his throat while making a mess.
>D: Ask him to not do that again politely.
>E: Smile, tell him to enjoy his drink, then complain to her manager.
>F: Other.

The group stops just out of sight of the town, taking some time to conceal the carts and plan an entrance.

"Definitely demons here" Michaela says.

"How many?" You ask.

"Uhh... Anywhere between... uhh... 10... and... 100" She says.

...

"Think you could narrow it down a bit?" You ask.

She shakes her head. "My apologies. I haven't really gotten the chance to tune this sense..." She says, looking down.

"That's alright" You say. "For now, it's enough that we know they're here"

Gerard leans on his sword. "Would it help if we counted them out for you after they're all dead?" He asks.

"Don't be an ass, Gerard. She's trying her best" Meyu says, slapping his companion on the arm.

"Actually... yes" Michaela replies. "Knowing the number would help me to tune it"

...

"Okay then. We'll try and get one for you" Meyu says. "So how we goin' about this?"

"I dunno... I was actually going to ask what you'd do" You say.

"We can either sneak in and try to recon while taking out any legionnaires we see, or we can do something big and draw them into a funnel where we can slaughter them" Meyu says. "Which idea is the best one kinda depends on where their numbers sit on the scale blondie just gave us"

"Slow and sneaky sounds better if there's a lot, big and bold sounds better if there's less" You say.

"But then again, you've got the big powers. Think you could take out a hundred demons if we funneled them into you?" Meyu asks.

"Possibly" You say. "I say we-"

>Go in loud, clean 'em up quick

>Be sneaky and careful

While he mantains the shield blocking your fire you suddently grab hold of his leg with a shot of thread, you trip him and as he loses hold of his instrument the spell stops.
You aproach him as he hits the ground and start forcing your leg into his face, he tries to defend against you with one hand, he's remarkably strong for a spellcaster, he tries to grab a hold of his weapon but it's futile, you jam your leg into him and the hand clutching you goes limp.

Suddently from behind the house you hear a woman shout "NOOOO" in anger, it's the marksman finaly revealing herself, she was setting up an ambush but she revealed herself after the distress of seeing the bard die.
"YOU MOTHERFUCKER" She shouts as she grabs for an arrow in her quiver.

A freeform NationsRP

Limit actions to ~2 per post, and allow others to post before posting more actions.

The game will include both magic and technology; working on the rules of the game Arcanum magic becomes less potent in the presence of technology, and technology begins to break down in the presence of magic.
Technology starting period is roughly analogous to 12th Century Europe or earlier.
Magic needs to be explained in some form, and must start low level.

The Seven Tribes

The Eldrem Dryads (brown, east island) are secluded to their grove, and transform into trees whenever they sense outsiders. They are protected by three great ents, although these guardians have lain dormant for many years

The Sevis Minotaurs (red, east island) are humble beasts who revere the wild bovine of their plain. Led by chief Sevis XII, their patriarchal society lives in only a dozen or so tents. (Think Plains Indians)

The Yida Satyrs (orange, west island) are your typical hedonists, and as such cannot truly be called a "tribe", they are little more than wild.

The Zis Lizardfolk (yellow, central island) live among the trees of their island, steering clear of the Amazons on the west coast. Similar to the Yida, they are almost completely savage.

The Tril Birdmen (purple, west island) also live in swamp-trees, although building complex joined nesting structures in the branches. Like the magpies they resemble they hoard anything that glitters. Many a lost jewel may be found in a Tril nest.

The Uru people (green, west island) are dark skinned farmers, slowly building their society along the fertile banks of their river.

Finally, the Copo people (blue, west island) are ghostly pale, nocturnal men & women. Their gangly bodies are stooped over from living in their cramped caves. The Copo could more truly be called monsters than men.

Rogue Pilot Quest Episode 3: Night Time on the Desert

RoguePilotQuestEpisodeThree
You are Ivan Dhovochesky, an ace communist fighter pilot in a not-quite-Earth’s Cold War gone nuclear. You spent the last day scouting for transports to get you, your supplies, and your base personnel off of your current airbase before radioactive fallout from the nuclear war makes it uninhabitable. Also, your squadron shot down eight enemy aircraft in a single engagement, bringing your total to 12 enemy craft in two days. If any of those pilots survived in the irradiated wasteland, you’d probably have quite the reputation among your adversaries.

Regardless, now that you have some heavy transports at your base, you’re clear to start evacuations. But there’s one problem: you rescued one Major Grosky from another base, who’s at loggerheads with your own Major Nikonov. And he’s pissed that you sort of lied to him about his mentor, the Colonel, being less than alive, presently. At least your ex-squadron-leader-who-was-actually-a-globetrotting-spy seems to have a handle on things, and more importantly, he seems to have a plan. Unfortunately, that plan involves flying into a kingdom that’s about to be at war, through enemy airspace…

Chapter Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt7vCAcgADc

Your eyes blink open slowly. Ouch. Sunlight blasts into the narrow slit between your teenage eyelids, bathing you in warmth and reminding you that it’s definitely summertime. As you turn onto your side, you feel the grit of sand under your skin. The gentle rhythm of waves washing onto the shoreline interspersed with seagull calls almost lulls you back to sleep, but a hard protrusion catches your attention. You open a single eye to squint at the offending object. It’s a perfectly smooth disk of stone, the ideal skipping material; there’s no reason to waste such a beautiful opportunity.

You hop up from your resting place and snag the stone, walking to the beach. You look up and see a small plane dragging a banner behind it, a flock of seagulls below it, and a cloud or two in the otherwise bright and clear sky. You stop at the shoreline, feeling the chill of the ocean washing over your toes as you take aim. With a flick of your wrist and a spin of the rock, you sling it across the waves. It makes it a couple of paces, but then your attention is caught somewhere over the horizon.

Comiket Quest

coolQuestOPImage
It's August 7th, 2019, the beginning of your twice yearly vacation from work. You wake up around 1 PM to an empty apartment, the massive stacks of doujins and display cases full of merchandise surrounding you lit up only by the dull light of your monitor and a few backlights inside the display cases.
You slowly ease your way out of bed before going to brush your teeth and get dressed, grimacing slightly at your growing gut in the mirror. You should do something about that, but this isn't the time. You have more important things to deal with. After waking up and taking care of yourself you turn the lights on and take a look at a large suitcase sitting on the floor of your room. You rummage through the contents, muttering each of them to yourself and trying to remember if you've missed anything. "Clothes, body pillow, water bottle, admission wristband, cell phone, wallet, event catalog..."
After double and triple checking your luggage you grin to yourself in satisfaction and carefully put it all back, ready to take the bullet train to Tokyo later today. You'll spend a day relaxing, and then starting on the 9th you'll fight through the hellish battlefields you've gone through every year since 2008. This battlefield is known as Comiket, and right now you're prepared to go to the 2019 NatsuComi, also known as Comiket 96.
Every year you enter this hell and every year you come out the victor, piles of doujins and merchandise and pictures of your favorite cosplayers symbols of your victory. You've come out on top for this long because of...
>your wealth. While some people might struggle just to get to the event and buy the doujins they want, you've saved up enough money by cutting back on every other expense in order to go all out during Comiket. Your job doesn't pay badly either.
>your knowledge. Some people claim to be otaku and come to Comiket knowing about some of the popular circles and their favorite shows and games, but you've spent enough time to know far more than these so-called "otaku". Your knowledge of merchandise, anime, games, manga, and doujin circles is nearly encyclopedic.
>your strength. While you may be a bit flabby on the surface, you're pretty well-toned beneath all that. It's easy for you to push your way through the crowds and find your favorite circles before they're sold out.
>your reputation. Back in the good ol' days you used to draw doujins and release them at Comiket, although you've stopped now and gotten a job as a salaryman. Still, a lot of the older circles still know you and there are some people willing to do you a favor or save you copies of what they're selling.
>Other

I'll check back after I grab lunch and see whether there's still voting going on. I'm not extremely busy so something like a hard minimum of 4 updates a day sounds reasonable if votes permit.
Projected runtime of this quest: 1 - 3 threads. It should end after the four days of Comiket and possibly an epilogue.]

A New Mutant Quest Issue #21

New_Mutants
You are Kojo Reyes, mutant Kingpin of Crime.

Tomorrow is the big day you've been waiting for, and the day you and your friends must split into false enemies and you a falsehood of yourself.

As for today, you've learned that being a teacher is a hell in of itself not unlike being a student and you might be in denial about something.

Right now, you want to lay down with a snuggly buddy to forget the twelve straight hours you spent sitting on your nice ass.

>[X] Lift open the gate, hop to the sleeping area, lay down Marcus at one side, and lay down with Alex in the other. You two need some time to talk.

Marcus already got to talk to you about personal stuff back at Sylvia's. You can talk with him again after you talk with Alex anyway. As for the blond minx herself, you need to know who the real her is. She showed you how she is when vulnerable but not how she usually is behind her ditsy blond facade.

Letting go of your ebony-skinned friend, you walk over to the warehouse gate keypad and input the door code.

The sheet of galvanized steel bellows and creaks as it churns open.

You push Marcus' shitty inner ear ass on his feet with your free hand before entering the empty first floor of your building, now balanced second-in-command in tow.

It takes you a minute or two to lazily walk to the twin ladders and a quarter of one for your best friend to hurry his tired self along.

Wrapping an arm around Marcus' waist once again, you hop up to the second floor of the warehouse.

A sea of resting humans on top of a sea of spread-out sleeping bags lays before you. Small islands of un-layed sleeping bags dot the ocean of sleepy gangbangers.

You hop again over to one of the clear spots and lay Marcus down before jumping to another, setting Alex down, and falling down beside her.

The minx immediately rolls on top of you and grins.

"We've kept this waiting long enough, haven't we?" Alex purrs.

Rolling your eyes, you let out a groan.

Always one step forward and two steps back with this crazy bitch.

>[ ] "Just give me time and I'll work up to it eventually, okay?"
>[ ] "I don't like it when you play psycho whore."
>[ ] "Can we please have a normal conversation?"
>[ ] "Have you tried contacting your parents?"
>[ ] "No, we haven't."
>[ ] Write In.

Cover-art kindly provided by our noble artiste, Draw-anon, who kindly took time off repainting the Sistine Chapel for us. Look upon our prettyboy protagonist. Look upon his devilish smile and despair.

In last thread’s episode of Why Can’t I Hold All These Crits, our hero HARRY ‘TROUBLE MAGNET’ FLASHMAN found himself a natural prodigy with the fine and subtle weaponry that are... cannonballs. Um. He, uh, also confirmed that Fireface is Garp’s grandson, Hat got a Logia, and Crocodile got deadified. Afterwards, HQ threw out promotions like candy (mmm, candy), and the ship carrying Lolonoa Zolo has come under attack by Jedi Kn- uh, the Strawhats. At least you still have Wado Ichimonji.

We now return you to your scheduled idiocy.

Claymore: Second Swords Quest #26

Claymore_OP_2
You are Noel Tiberius di Hazaran, and you've just helped one of your fellow warriors in reattaching her leg. Or rather, in attaching the leg of her dead friend to the stump that's left of her own limb. Which is a little more grim, and definitely took more convincing.

“Take her upstairs,” you instruct Valentina, who lets the younger and smaller Lucia lean on her to keep weight off her recovering leg. “The bath water has been drawn, so help her get cleaned up and settled in.”

“And the others?” Valentina asks, referring to Sabrina and Laura.

With a calm smile you clap Valentina on the shoulder. “I'll see to them myself.”

For the next task you collect the bucket of hot water you requested, and send Dominica for soap and a wash towel. Once those items have been furnished you take them to Laura.

“So, we haven't really spoken since the fight,” you observe calmly, dipping the cloth into the water. “Do me a favor and get your buttons.”

“You've been busy,” Laura sighs, doing as you requested. “Am I to be bathed by the Princess of Hazaran herself? What an honor.”

“You reek of fouled blood,” you scoff. “If you're going to sleep in my room tonight you're going to have to be clean first.”

“Fair enough. I suppose we're all guests in your... I want to say 'house'?”

“Only on a technicality,” you admit, first washing her face and forehead before moving on to the slowly-regenerating segments of her arm and leg. “It was my father's ancestral home, and the administrative seat of his clan. But I mostly grew up in the palace... this was more of a temporary residence in the summers.”

“Must have been nice,” Laura sighs. “This room is bigger than the croft I grew up in.”

“It could be,” you nod, moving on to somewhat more sensitive spots... under her arms, behind her knees, and so forth. “We spent a lot of time outdoors, my father and I. Riding, fishing, hunting. Keeping in touch with the old ways of the Hazari. Skills which many of our people still rely on.”

Abused Apprentice Quest 1

demon summoner
When you graduated from the magic academy and were deemed worthy for an official apprenticeship. You couldn't wait to see who your master would be. A war mage? An enchanter? Elementalist? Seer? Nope to all the above. Instead, you were chosen by a necromancer. Which normally would have been something you could have lived with if he ever stopped trying to get you killed, abusing you, or forget about the fact that you even exist for such long periods of time that you think your gonna die of literal starvation. Honestly you think would have been better off in the hands of an actual demon.

Like right now for instance running for your life after being sent into a haunted woods to chop trees for haunted lumber for whatever godforsaken reason he needs it for. Instead, you encountered monsters, curses, undead, and have forgotten what the sun even looks like. Now that you finally made it back to his accursed tower instead of being allowed in you were informed you wouldn't be granted entry until you accomplished the task assigned to you.

Luckily most of the things pursuing you stopped at the clearing's edge. A few kept on coming after realizing you couldn't enter the tower and chuckled or hissed sinisterly at your wretched fate. The bad news is even if you survive this fight you STILL gotta go back into the woods and fight through the others to collect enough lumber to be let back inside...goddamn assholes. The lot of them.

What do?
>Summon backup
>Chop chop motherfuckers
>Activate defensive formation
>Blast them with magic
>Other?

Fuck Me, My Daughter's A Magical Girl! Quest #24

We can do this the easy way, or the hard way
You're standing in your backyard.

Grilling - a very standard American dad thing to do. Well, more accurately, you're waiting for the coals to catch so you can grill.

And Sue, one of your daughter's magical girl friends is leaning on the back wall of your house, torn between going up the spheres to kill the rats, going to protect her mother, and her obvious but definitely unrequited crush on you. She wants you to make it simple.

As she put it 'I just want to know who to stab.'

At the absolute end of the day, you don't have a fucking clue who or what Sue needs - you just know it's not you. And you couldn't quite figure out what to say.

"Probably not best to overthink this mess," you say, "and maybe try calling your mom?"

Sue sighs, then pulls out her phone. Dials a number. You hear a couple of rings.

"Sue?" you barely hear in a muffled electronic voice, Sue says "mom? You doing ok?" and the line goes wild.

...Going wild to the tune of hearing half of it three feet away from the phone itself.

"Mom," Sue says, jamming at her phone and holding it away from her ear, "I'm putting this on speakerphone! You're all too loud!"

"The guys really like you," Jean says over a maelstrom of confused voices, "I mean - they respect that you could pin them into the concrete with a piece of rebar - after ripping the rebar out of the concrete. They saw what you did in Hell. I'm fine. You want to come over?"

"I'm not sure," Sue says, looking at you, "there's something I need to do," she finishes, muting her phone, then she suddenly frenches you - sloppy, ardent, and you don't let her tongue past your clenched teeth.

"I thought it would be like that," Sue says, after breaking off, "so what," she asks, gazing into your shocked eyes, "are your orders?"

>You do you
>We're going after the rat god together
>I NEED a liaison with Superfly's demons. You mother's already there
>Did Mary see you do that?
>What the hell do you think Liska's going to do after something like that?
>Sue, that was way over the line

Super Robot Wars Quest - 3-

Carlotta and Von Neumann
Welcome to Super Robot Wars Quest!
In the previous episode: we teamed up with a Topless veteran, Lal'c Melk Mal, to defeat the last Synapticon nest within the lake. Want to catch up with the story so far? You can here! http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?searchall=SRW+Quest

And now let's proceed, without further ado.
------------------------------------------------------------

"So, you're going?"
"Do we have any alternative?"
"I don't think so."
"Then that's a rather dumb question, isn't it?" The man saying this was not mad or upset, however. Rather, he was similing wide. His interlocutor, on the other hand, wore an indeciphrable expression on his face. "More importantly, how are your eyes?"
"They'll get better. Everything is in position, both your machine and mine."
"Heh. I expected nothing less," he replied, his hand shaking slightly as he reached for a cigarette, the first ever in his life. He couldn't even lit it up properly, and after a few futile attempts, he tossed it away. "How are the boys?"

"They won't get in your way. I told you, everything's fine. I kept my part of the deal. Are you getting cold feet?"
"Truth be told, I am. Guess I am afraid of dying after all."
"Aren't we all?"
"I suppose I thought too highly of myself," the man said, stepping backward and lying with his back on the wall. "What a sick joke. All of this. "
"And to think you're about to become the punchline."

There was an uneasy silence, then the other man spoke up again.
"I am sorry, that was uncalled for."
"You shouldn't apologize for telling the truth. It is what it is. No, it is what we'll make of it."
And then again there was silence. He started drumming with his fingers against the concrete floor, humming a tune he'd heard his teacher sing once before. A question was plaguing his mind. Something he dared not to ask. He knew very well that he was fooling himself. He knew that the situation wouldn't have changed, whether he asked or not. The only difference would have been between knowing and not knowing. Clearing his throat, he steeled his resolve.
"Say..."
"Yes?"
"Do we stand... do I stand any chances of winning?"
"No."

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roserade)
Dice (Feraligatr)
Sorbet (Vulpix)
Ghost Pepper (Rotom)

Location: Eelilee Festival grounds

Recently: Herb battles in an amateur contest tournament and teases poor Hana

Levy Quest #2

OP1
Last time on Levy Quest:

>You, a cowardly farmer, experienced battle for the first time
>With the help of your squad mate, Richter, you rescued your squad captain, Briton, after he blundered into the enemy ranks
>You and Richter watched each other's backs until you got injured, at which point you lost consciousness and Richter had to carry you out
>After a day in the medical tent you met with the corporal who promoted you to take Briton's place as squad captain
>You took the squad out to loot the battlefield and recovered a few pieces of armor and a mostly intact byrnie
>Richter showed up with a stag he had killed and you traded some of the meat with the other squads for better weapons
>You took on an escort detail to gather reinforcements at a nearby fortress
>The lord of the fortress, Oberlin, managed to convince the corporal to mutiny and give up the lieutenant. He tried to kill you when you refused to help, and was killed in turn.
>Things quickly spiraled out of control, but you managed to take Lord Oberlin hostage, at which point he made you the same offer of gold, which you again refused.
>After a daring escape, you've returned to camp without reinforcements, less one corporal and with the lieutenant injured and mysteriously hostile towards you

Shinigami Savant Quest #151

SSQ_PRICEDOWN_OP
You are Arisawa Tatsuki, and you've actually chosen too lock yourself up for an undetermined amount of time with your ex-boyfriend in an extraplanar tunnel of some sort that connects the world of the living and the afterlife.

Which may make you crazy, but then again you're also in a rather bizarre situation just in terms of your life right now. So your definitions of crazy might be a little skewed.

Also, you might have just socked him in the face.

“Ow!” he hisses, rubbing his jaw. “The hell was that for?”

“Now is absolutely not the time for us to be getting back together!” you huff, fists now finding your hips in your coordinated expression of disapproval. “But if we both survive this...”

“We're gonna,” he grumbles, still rubbing his jaw.

When we're done,” you amend your previous statement, “maybe we'll go out for coffee or something. See where things go from there.”

Ichigo sighs dramatically. “So how'd we even get like this anyway? Separated I mean?”

“Looking back I guess it started around when you'd have started seeing ghosts,” you recall carefully. “You just kinda drifted away, you know. I wasn't wrong to feel like you were deliberately avoiding me, I just didn't know what the reason was.”

“And would you have believed me if I told you?”

“At the time, probably not,” you admit. “At least not if it was just your word. If you really wanted to convince me there were ways... I may be a bit of a skeptic sometimes, but I'm not completely unreasonable.”

“Yeah, you might be right.”

You take a deep breath, and a mental-reset comes with it. “So I think that's enough chit-chat for now. Don't you?”

Ichigo nods. “Sure, if this is what you think needs to happen.”

Beyond the Pale Civ #7.75

OP4
Last time on Beyond the Pale, once again, a thread cut short early. Let's get on with things, shall we?

---

Where we last left off, men had begun to gather in Taelia, after sailors spotted a large host moving towards your fair capital from Natoya. With about two weeks left to spare, a report reaches you from the few Natoyan settlers out in that area, who the approaching army did not harass: The army contained Frelanders! Riders are heading south from Archstone at this time as well, reporting that they are under siege by a force containing both ogres and the strange vampire priests of the Frelander faith, but they will not arrive in time. The army is already heading westwards, to confront the enemy before they can reach Taelish farmlands...

Bruce Wayne is alone (Choose your own adventure)

WM
>Wayne Manor

>Bruce Wayne is in his bedroom. A little bit out of his mind due to drinking some whiskey and popping a couple of painkillers. Alfred doesn't need to know, right?

>He cries a little bit over his dead parents, then practices his playboy facial expressions in front of the bathroom mirror followed by his bat scowl.

>He goes back to his bedroom and turns off the light. Then passes out on the bed.

>Some time later (Who knows how long. Who cares?) he is woken up by a cold breeze caressing his cheek. He shoots up to a seated position and notices the window is open. The curtain flowing freely and the only source of light being the full moon.

>"That's odd." he thinks to himself. With a slight increase in nerves, he gingerly approaches the suspisciously open window and steps onto the balcony. He sees nothing other than the woodland view he treats himself with now and again.

>He ventures back inside and attempts to close the window. Attempts because something is jamming it.

>He finds the culprit. A small plastic doorstopper. Black.

>Just as he holds it up for closer observation. A sleek, black gloved hand grabs his wrist.

>A shadowy figure forces its way in. Wayne steps back as the grip tightens. He can now see it's Cat-Woman. With a cold, unmoved expression barring the gritting teeth nehind her closed lips from the exertion.

>He tries to call out to Alfred but gets slapped so hard in the face with Cat-Woman's free hand a big red imprint is left and he feels a searing sting that will linger for the next few minutes.

>Wayne is in a tight spot. He's supposed to be the playboy idiot and he's not in costume right now. Submit or fight back? What happens next? YOU DECIDE!

An evening with Lex Luthor

Lex-Luthor-comic
- METROPOLIS -

You are a high-class call girl working for an escort service. One of your regular clients is Lex Luthor. Obviously due to the man's respectable reputation your affair with him is secret. Whenever he wants to "relax" he sends his right-hand woman, Mercy Graves, disguised as a common woman and always picks you up in a rental. Before that time you always get the letter from "Jimmy Glick" informing you of the usual time.

You have just recieved that letter again this morning. It is now evening and you are ready in your red cocktail dress he likes, your subtle, yet alluring makeup, your three inch black high heels and your sheer black nylons. As you leave the agency you tell some of your friends who were smoking beside the entrance that you're just meeting up with another regular.

You see the car. A simple black four seater with tinted windows. Nothing that suggests someone like Lex would own it. You enter and you see a disguised Mercy. Grey hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, and as always the cold and stoic expression. You eye her black leather driving gloves. Those things always creeped you out for some reason. It was as if she could do whatever she wnated to you at any point and there would be no fingerprints left behind.

She's stoic and quiet as usual. She doesn't even look at you as you get into the passenger seat next to her and buckle your seatbelt. As you pass the first few streets on the drive she is nothing but silent. You're getting kind of bored. Do you

>A: Mess with the window.
>B: Try to make small talk.
>C: Try and snatch her sunglasses.
>D: Do nothing. These rides usually don;t take long anyway.

Shadow Realm Quest

498230492
In the shadow realm everybody is shadowy, everything is shadowy, the trees, the animals, the fucking water. And pretty much everything is poisonous. You better be immune to poison to live in here.

When you decided to come here you bought a ring of poison immunity from a wizard and it has saved your life more times than what you can count. You can eat a bowl of poisonous fruits and get away with just a mild diarrhea.

This place is fairly isolated - a short planar travel away from anywhere inhabited by another human, you keep a scroll of planar travel in the hut you built yourself in the middle of one of the countless places called the same, shadow forest, the people in this place could be more creative. Although in their defense in their native language they have a hundred and fifty six words for 'shadow', the shadow men. They have a village a few miles away from your hut, you've met then a few times, they're simple people who live off the land. An old man in their village, a sage who calls himself Shady, who speaks broken common, acted as your translator for a few coins a day when you need to do business in the village. He says further to the north there is the castle of a certain Shadow King who rules over all these lands.

But why did you decide to come here in the first place?
> You were an incredibly successful thief who was wanted in pretty much every kingdom, so the only place you could think of to hide where nobody would look for you was the shadow realm
> You are a wizard yourself and you are studying the properties of the various shadow realm creatures to create new magical potions out of them

Outsiders Invasion Quest

31298390130
The world of Aelia was awestruck with the new discovery of the wizard Proteus, a way to open portals to another dimension and summon creatures to perform small tasks for you. Scrolls, wands and magical items were created imbued with the newly discovered spell and it was common to see the little colorful humanoid creatures roaming the streets of any major cities performing tasks for their masters.
But an unforeseen effect of the overuse of this new spell was the weakening of the fabric of reality itself. Many wizards have theorized about what exactly has happened and the overall consensus seem to be that a tear in our reality allowed beings from another dimension to breach in. But not the harmless servitors that we learned to summon - things far more vile and destructive started to pour out of portals that began appearing out of nowhere all over the world.
By then the wizard Proteus was already long gone. But one of his apprentices, a wizard called Alexia, created a spell that protected a large area of about four miles radius from incursion from extradimensional entities. This spell was performed as a ritual taking twenty four hours to perform, required a large amount of a rare crystal in order to work and lasted for a whole year.
Every major city in the world began using the new Protection From Outsiders ritual, and villages that couldn't afford such a necessity would one after another end up being erased from the map by the ravenous demons as more and more portals appeared all over the land.

Who are you in these trying times?
> A merchant risking his life connecting the mining towns in the desert and the various cities hauling the precious crystal needed for the ritual to keep the demons at bay
> A wizard skilled in the ritual of protection from outsiders going from town to town offering his much needed services of renewing the annual protection
> A skilled demon hunter, carrying a repeating crossbow of your own manufacture and a couple sharp blades, you've made quite a reputation for yourself in securing whatever activities need to be performed outside the safe zones

Your eye has changed. You see it when you stop and glance at your reflection in the glass Observatory windows, or the reflective surface of a smooth metal wall nearby. Projected from your cloudy iris is a ring of faint light: a never-ending wheel of memory envisaged as a pixilate data stream. Aelriss looks at you, concern wrinkling her brow, and you meet her gaze, examining her for a moment. Her white hooded cloak is wrapped around her shoulders as a luxuriant and majestic comfort, voluminous blonde braid spilling down her front. You wonder, very briefly, how close the perfect appearance of her digital avatar matches her—or you suppose it could be his—real life appearance, but reconcile the notion when a momentary thought affirms that you can’t imagine her any other way.

“Well?” You ask. Aelriss turns to Tatsumaki, standing catatonic and dull-faced nearby.

“Still nothing.” The artificer waves her hand in front of the shorter girl’s face as if to attempt to rouse her back into reality. “She’s totally zonked.”

“You think something happened to her?” Your eye twitches. You need more Celestial Gems. Taking a few steps closer to the group, you fold your arms, leaning forward as though to inspect Tatsumaki. Her usually-grinning face is joyless; the rosy sliver that often lines her cheeks is absent. She stands petrified, vacant of both idle motion and the swaying of breath.

“Outside of the fact that I think she’s been offline for like… less than a few real-time minutes since Kjorikos? I don’t even know what it was like before I met her.” Aelriss purses her lips. “Kind of assumed it was just like this.”

“She knocked out, then.” You respond.

“Maybe? She’s still standing here, which means she’s still linked up.” The artificer frowns. “I’m kind of feeling it myself, and I’ve been on for just as long. Not tired, just—spaced. I don’t even really know what time it is overhead, y’know? Never occurred to me that you could just knock out.”

“Can you?” You ask, after a pause.

Mare Nostrum Civ 2

1555239230271
34 years ago Mithrades II of Calpurnos crowned himself king of The Lunarkian Islands. In the ensuring years contact was established with the Sesceon king, Vittcar, with whom you have expanded your trade. The Lunarkians helped Vittcar defeat the pirate chieftain Sneadh, and conquered his stronghold on The Cape of Tin.
In the ninth year of his reign, Mithrades mounted an expedition to the island of Taxoss where strange artifacts were found, these "Mychos Beads" were claimed by your priests as relics of your god.

You are the noble Stathosí of this realm, charged with governing your lands and advising the king.

With riches starting to flow through our trade networks, Lunarkia is growing ever wealthier. This has come at a cost, however, as crime is rising in many regions. While many of the nobles would rather have the old tribal ways remain, where every chief dealt with criminals as he saw fit, a new motion is voted through by the stathosí. A collection of laws is to be written down, and copies spread through the land, where noble lords will remain the acting judges.
These laws seek to further protect personal property, civil rights, and the piety of our people.

In the end

>Once upon a time, a man discovered magic and rained chaos in it. To battle this menace, a group of coven witches fought the rouge wizard ending in a singular mass of Mana explosion. The residual Mana scattered in the wind and was then that every person in the planet can now use magic. Today in a modern city where magic is everywhere and so is the technology advanced. The world is going to be thrown again to the flames of a war........thousand years from the past.

Morning comes, the alarm ringing now for how many times. You already lost count on how much this annoying clock nags you to wake up. You only want to sleep comfortably yet the responsibility of being a future member of society calls you. Specifically, this clock.

"School is such a chore. Why I am forced to wake up 7 in the morning." Standing up, you force to drag yourself to the bathroom, stripping yourself and enter the shower. You turn the knob and you shout in the coldness of water touching your skin.

"Damn this water is cold. Wish I have a warm shower for the change."

Leaving the shower, you drag yourself again to wear your uniform and go to the kitchen where your leftover chinese food is still on the table covered with paper plate. You take it out to reheat it and eat. Looking at the time, you have 5 minutes until the first hell. Your school is 15 minutes away when walking, 7 if you run. But the novelty of running yourself late panicking wears off when you already don't have any motivation going to school early. Throwing the paper bowl in the growing pile of trash, you exit your house, bag already on your hand. Slinging it on your shoulder, you resume your slow walk knowing you are already late in the class.

Walking on the deserted street of residential area is one of your favorites. Peaceful and quiet. You don't mind the occasional chirping of bird as they are part of the nature. Yet slowly the houses are replaced with buildings and smoky vehicles running through the day. After a few minutes, the school is on sight and the yard is devoid of any students because of the class already in session. You enter the building donning your school shoes and walk to the second floor where your room is located. Passing several rooms and some occasional stares from the students who only pay little attention to you, the room is in front of you. Looking up, you arrive at the room you take your class.

>2-5

Opening the door. The whole class quiets as you walk to your seat, put the bags in and rest your head on your hand, using your elbow as a support with a bored and sleepy look in your face. The teacher then resumes her roll call.

The Brass Companions #3: Exploring Gabriel’s Rest

67CFEA49-EFA5-4F6B-B81D-B47352E1732B
>>Welcome back to The Brass Companions! Last time we got our first real taste of combat, having delved into the depths of a goblin’s nest our forces underestimated in both size and strength. We met a hobgoblin, the a human-goblin half breed, that was grotesquely mutated. He proved to be a difficult fight, but we prevailed in the end and we ended up saving a pair of young boys and a woman from some pretty grizzly fates. We were injured in the process though, and passed out after clearing a decent chunk of the tunnels. We awoke in the surgeon’s quarters of our company headquarters for the region.

You shift in the bed, swinging your legs over the side. The muscles of your injured leg groan as you use them for the first time since waking up. Sandon discreetly moves closer to the bed, ready to catch you should your leg not support your weight.

Your foot touches the cool floor gingerly and you ease yourself up. You wobble, catch yourself on the edge of the bed, and stand firm. Sandon gives you a smirk as you take a few cautious steps. Your leg hurts, and each step causes some discomfort, but it’s bearable. “Only you Kanard. The Primordials have always favored you. Remember that time when we ‘borrowed’ a pair of horses from your father and we got tossed off of them? That pack of wolves should’ve torn us up…” He shakes his head, grinning. “Luckily your luck has always rubbed off on me.” The two boys perk up. “Pack of wolves? What happened?” Sandon shakes his head. “It’s a long story, I’ll tell you two later, your mother is waiting out there. Take her home.” The two boys look slightly dejected but nod out a whiny. “Yes sir.”

The two boys leave you and Sandon alone. He stretches and suppresses a yawn. “Since we have the next few days free, I’m going to grab some sleep. Later why don’t we meet at that tavern? I’ll bring the squad and we’ll share a few drinks over a successful mission. And a good bit of coin coming our way. What do you say?”

>>Of course, I’ll be there.

Howdy all, and welcome to “A Song of Duty and Spite; House Reynold Quest”. You are Uzumaki Naruto, an orphan determined to survive. After sealing a nine tailed kitsune into yourself as a child, you resigned yourself to the life of an outcast - but when you met the ronin Hatake Kakashi, and he took you as a student, things started looking up.

Kakashi brought you to the holy city of Konoha to participate in the hunt, an ancient ritual where Shinobi children compete to become adults. During your time in the city, Kakashi was captured by the Hyuga, the divine family of the moon.

You conspired with two up and coming Shinobi, Inuzuka Kiba and Akimichi Choiji, to kidnap the Hyuga princess and exchange her for her master. After rescuing you from an ambush led by one of Kakashi's clan members, Choji took his leave of the forest.

You found the Hyuga Princess, Hinata Hyuga, but the situation is more complicated than you knew. Hinata is not her father's favored heir, and he has arranged for her death during the hunt so that he can put his younger daughter on the throne.

Rather than play directly into his hands, you chose to take a different route....

Modern Fantasy Quest: Thread 4

CIty4
In the depths of undeveloped forests, in the shadows of dingy alleyways, in the midst of the glass spires of the rich, forces outside of human ken struggle for dominance over the terrestrial underworld.
This is the world of shadowy wraiths in the backstreets, of eldritch horrors slumbering deep within the sewers. This is a world where sprawling organizations hide behind shell companies, forever conspiring to hide themselves from sight while ancient brotherhoods struggle to uncover their intrigues.
It is a hidden world, a secret world.
It is your world.

You are Tristan, a man with no last name, a pious Knight of the New Covenant Temple sworn to enact God’s will in a not-so-secular world. Shielded by faith, righteousness, and very thorough mental Wards, you live to protect the world of humans from that which would subvert it.

Previously on Modern Fantasy Quest
Tristan helped his Mentor's wife clean the dishes, read some arcane and very heretical books on Eldritch entities, learned pyromancy, and called his operator, Benjamin.

Mass Effect Quest: New Beginnings, ep. 3

19B1C75C-46CB-4C02-BB12-A3C3E95FDCA7
Space, the vast, boundless expanse of stars so numerous that it defies the imagination. And maybe that is for the best. Would it be as easy to close one’s eyes and drift off to sleep, thinking about the countless mysteries, marvelous or malignant, separated by naught but distance? Is it not more convenient to accept the comfort of what is known, or at least familiar?

And yet that doesn’t stop many from dreaming with their eyes open.

This is story of Henri Ford, special consultant of Citadel Institute for Xeanoarchaeology and his crew, currently consisting of his Krogan colleague, Tufferson Kris, and a quarian pilgrim, Lea’Fari nar Namek. Together they ride the MSV Chariot on their road to adventure.

Currently the adventure consists of delivering a shipment of food and a council investigator, an Asari named Libella Tefar, to a Turian base nestled among Italian Alps. The Chariot is well on course towards Earth and you are facing a decision...

>Stay at the helm and read more outlandish pseudoscience as you fly
>Stay at the helm and read some news (specify lookup)
>Stay at the helm and chat with Lea (specify topic)
>Take advantage of the quarian maiden’s budding piloting skills and leave her in charge of helm while you go talk with your passenger.

/qtg/ - Quest Thread General: OBEY YOUR MASTERS Edition

qtgs true form
This is a thread created for the circlejerk of Discord and all things regarding how they feel Quests should be run, as well as general whinging about other generals on the board and smug fart-sniffing.
Please shitpost unless you're not from Discord and please ignore at any post not from a Discordfag attempting to derail our fart-sniffing or be remotely useful in any capacity. Outing yourself as severely mentally handicapped for example, while briefly entertaining, is the norm around here.

>What the fuck is a quest anyway?
Who gives a shit? Smell the Discord farts and let your worries go.

"Useful" links:
This link contains numerous writing guides, general advice, and various quest tools and communities, so there's no need to discuss these things in the thread. It is recommended that you give this a glance if it's your first time to the board, but let's face it, most newfags don't even think to come to /qtg/, let alone do "required reading." (Still under revisions indefinitely.)

Discord server (the only thing you'll ever need):
Can provide useful farts to sniff for QMs looking for help and is another way to promote Discordfaggotry. Is also a way for players to touch their QMs' dicks while sniffing their farts if they are also on the Discord.
"Useful" Channels: General(discussion on how we think quests should be and how much we oppose different ideas), The-Workshop(pretending to test mechanics), Pitch(ideas & feedback, namely your idea is shit and we are god so fuck you), and Updates (???). The only rule is if you need to shitpost at least be entertaining about it.

Archive of quest "reviews:"
We recently got an influx of a few "reviews" and it would be cool to see it continue, so we can laugh at how stupid you are. This may sound shocking, but we like to hear opinions about our farts. If you're feeling saucy then you ought to take a crack at it. It's not like you have a reputation to ruin, because we'll do that anyway to anyone we don't like!

Civilization2.0. jpg
Four people pick separate races and three of them agree upon a map or all four can agree upon a hardmode map (Only 8 species can live on the barren moon and it makes for a boring, quick game.) After the game is set I will tell everyone their current situation and they will take a turn to attempt an action, some actions will take multiple turns. Last faction or factions standing (diplomacy is always an option remember unless you already burned that bridge) wins. If popular enough I got awhile to do this. Nanodesu! Quest #3

Titlecard
You are Inazuma. You are a spaghetti-spilling, over-thinking, and clumsy ship girl. You don't know what the last part really means, but it's go to do with the ship-borne armaments that appear out of your body at will.
You were once a formless entity inside something that can only be described as an abyss, devoid of anything but your languishing "self".
You raged and wailed against the void, your emotions birthed many things, from dark, emotionless entities that wander the seas, destroying anything living on them, to colorful, bright entities that protect the seas, safeguarding them against the darkness.
After an eternity, you were visited by a strange, eldritch entity that gave you a form and thrust you into the world.

Your total time of existence only amounts to less than a week, but you've experienced a lot of things. The first thing you met when you were given a form and spat out of the void was the same entity who gave you said form. It mirrored yourself, save for a few major adjustments. Two to be exact. You called her Smugzuma, since you are very creative, nanodesu. Your first encounter with the entity outside the void made your entire existence shook, as it spoke directly in your head. You moved away when she stopped speaking. Your travels let you meet many things, from Abyssals to other ship girls, such as Miyuki, who you rammed due to a Karmic impulse, Ryuujyou or RJ, who you rescued from Abyssals, Kitakami and Ooi, who were inside one of the shipping containers you used for a base, your sister Hibiki, who you rescued from Abyssals, and Imuya, who saved you from an Abyssal Battleship who tried to break apart your tearful reunion.

Also, somewhere along the way, you found out that the small, cute beings that man your armaments, which you call fairies, are actually big, muscular beings that communicate in gestures and muscle flexing when they are out of your armaments.

Totemist Quest LXXXV

Totemist Quest
Your arc thins into a descent. For a heart-stopping moment you think you’ve miscalculated, the ledge of the far balcony dipping further and further above your head. At the last moment you cancel the air cushion beneath your feet, digging the heels of your boots into the corner of the wall at an angle that would shatter your pelvis without the Cobra’s boon, and -kick-. It’s no Cloudwalker Stride, but it mercifully proves enough as you wrap your gauntlets around the gilded rail and haul yourself out of sight behind the balcony railing in a (mostly) smooth motion.

The sounds of shuffling steps below continue unabated. You can’t help but let out a long, slow sigh as the tension bleeds from your shoulders by inches. You can still feel your balance offset by whatever strange concoction swirled within the cloud of off-colored mist you flew through as you clamber to your feet, keeping low to the ground to remain out of the eidolon’s line of sight. The circular door here is similarly elevated to its match on the fire side of the room, but the ramp has extended down to the balcony. You draw the Collider from your hip again. A quick check confirms that the iron-dust projectile is still safely socketed in the bolt groove. A good thing, that, as you can’t imagine how dangerous a dry fire of this kind of weapon would prove to your personal safety.

You press a palm to the plates folded over the aperture and are (to your great relief) immediately rewarded with a series of muted clicks as the metal plates unfurl to allow you entry. The chamber on the far side is lit better than the eidolon’s prison, but only marginally. Compared to the previous series of rooms the interior of this space is positively -cluttered-. Strange cabinets and chests are pushed against the circular walls of the room at uneven intervals. You can see a recliner or padded bench of some sort arranged near to the center of the room, lit from above by another pulsing crystalline chandelier. A deep red cloak has been thrown haphazardly over what appears to be a long, thin polearm jammed at an angle into the structure of the floor. A leather bag rests at the foot of the recliner. The material is scorched slightly around the edges, and the loose straps reveal a few blocky trail rations compacted inside.

Exquisite Corpse Quest #2

Ag-Grow Complex
"Hey Sid, how's it hanging? Low and close to the ground?"

"Goddamnit Sarah, you've got a dirty mouth you know that. I swear to god I'm going to report you to HR one of these days."

Sarah chuckled and slid her arms around her husbands waist.

"You know you love it babe. Besides, I was just asking about the Nu-Froot. Are we hitting our projected growth yield? Marketing wants to know how to spin it. God knows they need as much time as possible, just the name took 6 months and Nu-Froot was the winner, somehow."

"Heh, very Hello Fellow Kids. I heard there was a government subsidy involved for making it appealing to -"

Lights flickered violently for a few moments, before the rows of flourescent tubes lighting up the break room shattered.

"Holy shit, Sarah quick we gotta get out those things are the old ones with toxic gasses!"

Sid scrambled for his glasses on the floor briefly before Sarah started pulling him away. She didn't know about the toxic gas, but she always had keen instincts about danger. Transferring to marketing, for instance, prior to The Company's foray into the family friendly Ag-Grow culture.

Sid would never forgive her for that name, especially since Corporate loved it. He sighed internally, and admitted that her punning was one of the things he loved about her too. It was just so embarassing to have to tell people where he worked! Sarah might not have a sense of shame, but normal people did!

Quickly, they escaped to the evac point and they were back at their house by dinner.

Gun x Glory! #1

22dffa4b04ee5f3dcb56d65e79c62dee
It is the year 2030, and competitive gaming has become something of a worldwide phenomenon.

Gone are the days where the field of professional gaming is stigmatized, giving way to a trend that started small and blew up astoundingly. Stadiums once dedicated to physical sports such as football and baseball became tailored specifically for high-stakes gaming. From full virtual reality first-person shooters and grand scale real-time strategies to intense puzzle battles and star-making rhythm games, one truth had become clear to the world; gaming had become the greatest form of competition to the public.

With the world having moved to accept gaming as the primary sport, certain things had moved to accommodate it. Sporting goods stores shifted to include PC parts, VR equipment, and various health items in their stock. High-profile bars had begun to do away with the regular run-down slot machines, choosing to instead offer short games to play with fellow patrons on a night out. Arguably the biggest change, however, was the culture of the game café – once a rare sight on the streets, today many could be seen booming with business like never before.

The latter of the three examples is one you have a lot of experience in, considering your current circumstances.

"Are you LISTENING to me!?" A hand slams roughly against the counter in front of you, breaking you from your half-dazed reverie. In front of you stood a woman of short stature, narrowed eyes boring into yours with the fierceness that only a truly enraged mother could replicate. You blink slowly at the woman, reaching out to prop up the pencil holder that she had knocked down with her mighty counter bash. You swear that you can feel spittle flick across your face as she continues.

"As I was SAYING, you need to control how long my son spends at this shabby little corner joint. He should be focusing on his education and studying, not coming here every evening to gallivant with the ruffians that he calls friends!"

You open your mouth to respond, but she starts again with a rabid fervor.

"As a business owner, it is your JOB to know and regulate how long someone should be using one of these machines! A bartender cuts off a disgusting drunkard when he has had too much to drink! And here you are, allowing my son to waste away inside of a blasted machine that takes his mind away from the world around him! I know for a FACT I have contacted you about this before!"

If she has, you can't remember her. And now that she's taken a pause to suck in air like a malfunctioning vacuum, you figure that you won't have another shot to talk unless you do so now.

>Assure her that you'll be sure to watch her son's game usage, like a liar.
>Tell her the truth - it's her job to control him, not yours.
>Call over the boy and give him $20 out-of-pocket to play.

Valkyria Chronicles: Pacific Theater 28

20190329_142421
Longyamen, Edinburgh Malaya
A century ago, this small fishing town at the tip of the Malaya Peninsula was just that - a little coastal settlement of little significance. That all changed when the Kingdom of Edinburgh arrived in 1830 with her adventurers, and claimed the land for the crown.

These veteran adventurers, with years of experience exploring uncharted territory under their belt, quickly recognized the untapped potential of this location. Longyamen’s geographical position provided a natural harbor for ships, and its location on the tip of a strait served as the junction between the then Yu Dynasty and the rest of Southeast Assuwa, giving it the makings of a powerful trading port.

What followed was an influx of colonists and entrepreneurs. Today, Longyaman is a bustling harbor and the heart of trade and maritime travel in Southeast Assuwa. Under the Kingdom of Edinburgh, the city became the nation’s centerpiece of dominance over this part of the world.

As Edinburgh’s Jeweled Crown of the Far East, the city was appropriately constructed and decorated to reflect that title. Districts and architectures were modeled after classical Edinburgh before industrialization - old designs with new interiors, and streets were kept exceptionally clean. From the colorful dyes of the Raj to the varied spices of the East Indies, the city’s bustling trading port ferried in goods from all over the continent. In a sense, Longyamen was the first International City, a shining star that demonstrated Edingburgh’s vast heritage, wealth and power in this part of the globe...

Power that allowed them to dominate their fellow allies in the Atlantic Federation.

__makise_kurisu_steins_gate_drawn_by_huke__f0046e3730df92ffffc102e0c0787171
You are Alabaster Soliloquy, siscon and mega tsundere.

PREVIOUSLY:
-Your sister's 26th birthday arrived, but she wasn't happy to cross that milestone.
-You cheered her up with an unbrotherly kiss, which your mom unfortunately witnessed. It made the ensuing birthday party more than awkward.
-However, in a surprise move, Mom seemed to give her blessing to the relationship afterwards.
-Alex assisted Cerise in getting her circuit-bending livestream up and running again, which you interrupted with a lewd display.
-You took your older sister's virginity. Excellent!
-Tyrus arrived at your house and forced you to come with him, along with Alex and Cerise, to a strip club he owns, where he was to hold a summit with Stasi Lebedev and the Russian mob.
-Stasi, having found and captured Sable, wanted Tyrus to give her possession of you, Alex and Cerise. Tyrus refused, and the scene dissolved into a bloodbath.
-You found an opening to help Alex, Cerise and Sable flee -- but when Rose showed up, shotgun in hand, you stuck around to help her finish the job.

Dragon's Champion Quest 3

DCQ3
"There is a good chance we will be attacked today," you brief your escort as they start to break camp. "It seems some hillfolk decided to mount a rescue after all. Sixty men, mounted. Though I expect they've been riding hard to catch up with us."

To their credit, not one among the twenty men charged with protecting you shows any sign of fear at the idea of facing a unit of cavalry three times their number. But then again, you chose veterans for this escort for a reason.

"Your orders, Champion?" the lieutenant in charge of them simply asks.

"We continue as usual. Given their aim," you glance at Kresh, who's looking down, showing no sign that he even registered the conversation, "they'll likely try negotiation first, using the threat of numbers as leverage. Meanwhile, I'll be using the threat of myself to persuade them to go away," this earns you a few snickers. "If that fails, I will be relying on you to protect myself and the prisoner until I'm able to reach Duarch stage, after which you will focus on protecting the prisoner, while I will focus on depleting enemy numbers and morale. That said, make doubly sure your weapons and gear are in order," your solemn gaze sweeps over the gathered Dragonguard. "I detest losing men needlessly."

Soon enough, you're on your way, the soldiers' footsteps underscoring the sharp staccato of your horse's hooves upon the Dragon's Highway. Kresh remains as withdrawn as ever leaving you to guess at what thoughts or emotions may be passing through his mind. Though you have little doubt they're almost exclusively unhappy ones.

Thus, you let the man stew for close to two hours before making your move.

"So what's your take on the news?" you ask conversationally, reigning your horse in until you're riding side by side with Kresh. "Your people coming to save their chief?"

As expected, the man doesn't respond.

"Against your explicit orders too, I imagine," you persist. "You seem committed to having Megerix punish you for a crime we both know you didn't commit. Question is: why?"

Kresh continues to stare down at the back of his horse's head.

"I have a working theory that you're trying to protect someone," you snort quietly. "By which I mean that it's bloody obvious that's what you're trying to do. Confessing immediately, trying to attribute any and all responsibility for attacking the caravan to yourself. Even sending your family away just to make absolutely certain no one got between you and Megerix's ire. Your... bodyguards... notwithstanding. Even if they succeeded, it would've changed nothing. You told me yourself: there are no happy outcomes in this for you."

You spare the man another sideways glance. He refuses to meet your eyes, but certainly seems slightly more tense than a moment ago.

You take that as your cue.

"As it happens, the message contained the name of the man leading that rescue effort. It's Ivar - your son," you shrug. "So much for keep your family out of harm's way, I guess."

Supervillain Oneshot

Baddie
There was a time when superhero's were just fiction. Sure, sometimes you'd have some orange belt slap on some spandex and call themselves something stupid like The Venger or The Red Bat. They all either died, got arrested, or simply stopped showing up to back alley muggings. Some met worse fates. The Red Bat turned out to be Jacob Madsen, little league baseball coach. Jacob Madsen, turned out to be diddling kiddies when he wasn't showing them how to play with balls.

And so heros and villains remained on the page, and on the silver screen. Until July 12th, 2018, at a mass shooting in Nashville TN, one of the would be victims Awoke. Reportedly, she was surrounded by a bright beam of light, and when the light was gone, her eye's glowed white, and all the fear was gone from her face. Indeed, when the sweaty neckbeard mass shooter raised his modified AR-15 and pointed it at her, she turned his bullets to sand with a glance. A second later the would be killer dropped dead. Morticians later found out he died of shock, his heart having simply disappeared.

The woman was one Sarah Small, university student with dreams of working at Nasa. She also disappeared, seemingly blinking out of existence then and there. However, there have been several confirmed sightings of her, and a scant few video recordings, most notably at several other Awakenings. This ethereal reputation has earned her the moniker Outsider. Ever since the Outsider Awoke, similar incidents have become more and more common, although no-one has had such spectacular powers as her.

These demi-gods walking among us of course changed the world, and mostly for the worse. Reactions from the world's governments have been mixed, with some cracking down harshly on the Awoken, other's trying to regulate it for the betterment of the country as a whole, and some have collapsed into total anarchy. There's even a few despotic monarchies and dictatorships spontaneously popping up in these failed countries, headed by extremely powerful Awoken.

All of this sets the stage for you, and your Awakening. The details as to why you Awoke are unimportant, what is important are your powers, strange and terrible. In fact, lets find out what awful things lurk inside of you.
>Roll 1d4 to determine the amount of powers you have
>Roll 1d13 to determine the power points you have to spend on upgrades.

Mafia Quest {1}

170427-Al_Pacino-The_Godfather-movies-Michael_Corleone-748x468
- LITTLE ITALY, NEW YORK, 1951 -

"You're full of shit Paulie." You say strained as you lift a 30 pound box of frozen steaks into a box truck. Paulie leans down and takes the box from your hands and walks it towards the back of the truck. "I am not. My cousin Andy is coming by today to offer us a job working with the Moretti family. He's a made man and everything, I swears it."

You stop and take a seat on a stack of boxes and Paulie hops off the truck to join you. He reaches in a crate set aside and pulls out two beers. You take it and wipe it on your shirt. "What did Mr.Goldman say about putting beers in with the steak, Paulie? You're gonna give us salmonella or some shit." Paulie waves a hand dismissively and cracks his beer. You follow suit. "You're still drinking it ain't you?" He says nudging you with his elbow. You smile and shake your head taking a long sip of the half chilled beer.

A few moments pass of silent drinking and catching your breath "So what's this job he's offering us, your cousin? We gonna become made men? Wear silk suits?" You say jokingly. Paulie pauses and takes another swig. "You don't just become a made man out the gate. This opens doors is all I'm saying, most of this neighborhood is paying respect to the Morreti's and we can get in on that. Do some work ,keep our mouths closed and who knows?" You grimace and shake your head. "For a guy who knows a lot you don't seem to know shit, Paulie. What is this job even?" Paulie sets down his bottle and gestures to the crates surrounding you. "Exactly what we're doing right now. Simple load n' go down by the docks. It's an easy 30 bucks split 'tween the two of us." You nearly choke on your beer when you hear Paulie throw out the payment. You barely get paid eighty-five cents an hour working for Goldman.

>There's gotta be a catch, Paulie.
>You had me at Thirty Dollars. I'm in.
>What are we loading Paulie?
>You can go alone, I'm not interested in Mob money.

Magical Girl For Hire #73

Miranda Styles #73
There are many orders you’ve been giving as a mercenary. Some odder than others. Being told to NOT fight wasn’t often one of them, but here you are. The Prince on the job that you’ve taken wants you to sit back for once and let his people handle things. Granted, there’s a bit of decent logic for it- he wants you to keep out of sight because he’s playing at a bit of subterfuge making Lord Kolm’s forces think you’re elsewhere (and that’s Izumi who’s actually handling things), but still.

Hmph. Well, you’re not a fan of sitting back, but he’s the one paying you. “Fine, although I should note that I’m pretty good at the whole ‘no witnesses’ thing.”

“I’m sure you are,” he notes. “We don’t want to take any chances, though. If it pleases you, should there be any that seem to be getting away, please feel free to pursue them as you like.”

Huh. You kinda feel like that should’ve been more sarcastic than it sounded. Weird hearing it sincerely. “Right, then. Do you at least have something to cover my face?”

“Ah, excellent idea. See the quartermaster, if you would. Make it quick, of course.” Well, there’s that at least.

You do your best to jog as you already see the more non-combat elements of the army circle the wagons (some literally) and try to keep clear of the arena of combat. Hopefully this’ll be quick, clean, and with no major issues…

Although you’re very careful not to say that out loud. Don’t wanna jinx it.

Sandstorm Quest

3012930
You're a sentient sandstorm, perpetually locked in a cycle of rage and stillness traveling whimsically from place to place caressing the surface of the dusty planet you dwell on, utterly alone.

As you rage through the deserts of this alien planet you call home you feel living beings within you, tiny humanoid creatures inside oddly shaped metallic contraptions trying to protect themselves from you.

In all the millennia you have existed you had never felt other living things in this barren deserted rock. You don't know how to feel about these strange creatures defiling the stillness of your planet.

What do you do?
> Rage on, bury them under tons of sand
> Be merciful pass by them quickly
> Be still, the time to rage on has passed, it is time to rest and regain your strength to rage on later
> Attempt to communicate with the creatures (how?)

Faeborn Mage Quest 2

Faeborn Mage Quest 2nd Title Card
Previous Thread: >>3415965

You are Aiyana “Faeseer”, a young girl of not even nine years with the blood of a Doppelganger flowing through your veins. You stumbled into the court of the King and Queen of the Fae as they were exchanging places of rulership over the Fairies and Spriggan. You are now on a quest to save your mother from the cursed bite of a Spriggan, an attack resulting from her search for you in the forest late at night.

You saved your mother from the attack but could not cure her wounds. A toad sage named Heinrich informed you that there was no cure known to him and suggested you travel to the mage city-state of Goetia to find an expert. He has taken her to Tir Na Nog, the realm of the fairies, where time flows differently and given you a lifetime to find the cure. Following the advice of Heinrich, you are traveling to Goetia, ruled by the Arcane Research Society, in search of either a cure, someone willing to try and create one, or even tutelage that you yourself can find it.

You recently discovered that you are able to drain energy from fae and use their abilities but are wary of the potential corruption it may cause. On the run from your village for reasons not known to yourself, you have run into a traveling sorcerer from Goetia. He has offered to take you to the nearest trade center, Branson, and help secure you passage to city-state.

Traits:
Headstrong – You are confident in your abilities and refuse to conform to other’s wishes.
Naïve – Your lack of human interaction apart from your mother has left you fairly clueless on facets of the wider world. You tend to take bard tales very seriously.
Compassionate – You don’t like to hurt others except in defense of yourself or another. This has led to a reluctance to use your new-found ability to drain energy from fae.
Brave – You know what needs to be done and aren’t afraid to do it. Even if you are afraid, you know it needs to be done.

Abilities:
Lesser Glamour – You don’t have conscious control over this ability. Currently it hides the true pattern of your birth-tattoos.
Lesser Flare – A trick you used to scare of dark sprites. Since your meeting with Oberon it has become quite powerful. You have trouble controlling the strength of the flare.
Lesser Mana Drain – An ability you only recently discovered. It has let you drain energy from several fae. You gained an ability from the Cat Sidhe and your hair now has shadowy tendrils after absorbing the Darkling’s venom. You are hesitant to drain others, both for their sake and your own fear of what you will become.
Flicker Step – An ability gained from the Cat Sidhe. You are able to render yourself invisible for a few heartbeats.

Inventory:
Spyglass – Cheaply made, but still a treasure. The only present you have ever received that wasn’t clothes.
Gray-Blue Knife – Strangely cool to the touch.
Small Sack of Coins – 34 Copper Coins
Crimson Tricorn Hat – Given to you by Giovanni Versace, it has an absurdly large feather in it.

Saiyan Conqueror Quest 84

E2FBFD81-9849-4EFF-88FC-0516F1E11BD6
Fourteen years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza’s army. Since that fateful day, the Saiyans have earned their title of warrior race as Freeza’s most powerful soldiers, leading the charge onto hundreds of worlds and destroying those who oppose Lord Freeza’s rule. Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice odds for best of 3: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

Latest bin: https://pastebin.com/MnTZZFQu

Recently: Herb entered an amateur contest battle tournament.

I'm posting this now, but first reply will be in around 8 hours. I got the idea very late into the night but I'm very interested in trying it out. You guys like this setup?

---

The vampires have been known to exist for generations, some revile them, some worship them, but all know that they are much more powerful than a human and that they sustain themselves on blood.

You and your kin have been exiled from a powerful clan of vampires, forced to wander for at least a decade before settling, lest you suffer their wrath. A practice known as the penitence. The reasons, lost in time now. The past does not matter, only the future.

You've subsisted entirely on hunting down travellers and small villages, more often than not trying to leave them alive as to avoid earning yourself a bad reputation.

Your numbers, nonetheless, dwindled. You are not invincible. Some of you fell to the Hunger, some were killed by tribes of humans, others departed to make their own way in the world. In the end, only 10 remained. The ten of you.

The penitence is over. It is time to settle. The land around you is arid, but you were able to nest yourself in mountains close by, close by a river. You have much knowledge, but not much time. Soon the hunger will rear its ugly head again. Each of you needs at least 8 humans to survive without killing, to have a stable herd. The humans will need sustenance and good living conditions to provide you with good blood. In the end, you need to form your own community here. You could also drink blood from animals, but this is like a diet of vegetables for humans, it will slowly weaken and kill a vampire after a few years.

You've made sure to scout out the surrounding area. To the north is a tribe of humans fortified around a hill, living off a river even farther up, they seem to be struggling with a rivalry against another tribe. To the west is where 'your' river begins, with some healthy vegetation there and ample grounds for agriculture. To the east are the arid wastes which you traversed to reach this area, you know that many live beyond. To the south there is another river, which is flanked by forests.

Kingdoms in the Stars Chapter 16

The day humanity took to the stars was a day of hope. The Earth had become inhospitable, and it was time to find a new planet to reside. We rallied behind a man who had opened up the universe to us, a new Emperor to lead humanity into the vast expanse of space. All possibilities were opened that day. The stars didn't look any bigger, but instead looked so much brighter. With countless fleets at our side, and a desire in our heart, we held hands and took that first step together into the great unknown. All of humanities petty squabbles had come to an end. Now, we were one force with one common goal. Home. The day that will live on in every history book.

Centuries have passed, and that peace lives only in history. The last Emperor is gone, and the search for a fully habitable planet continues. The Unity of humanity is broken, torn apart by anger and differences in philosophy. Three main fleets served as the new banners, the new Kingdoms in the Stars.

Camelot, the regal and militaristic, rallied behind their Queen Julia Porter.

Athens, the diplomatic and innovative, rallied behind their President Apollo.

Shinto, the traditional and battle-hungry, rallied behind their Chieftain Sun Boros.

Unaffiliated ships are known as the Han. Most who choose to fly in the dangers of open space with no alliance to a fleet do so in control of the criminal underbelly of humanity, operating outside of man's law.

This is the future we have afforded ourselves. The stars appear larger than they did that day, but with time they have dulled.

The Big Bad Wolf Quest #4

5b1e94560afb26a1f8b026ac93eedb68_cierra (ra-bit)
Investigating the local area, a bit far from school, I eventually come across the bridge here. It goes over a stream that divides the commercial districts to another suburban neighborhood. In fact, it'll congregate itself with a river that lives in the central portion of the sea, ducking under an even bigger bridge. In comparison, the structure is built for convenience, and a few boys and girls would meet up at its underside to hang out. This is the vanilla fragrance's destination...

My shoes tread upon the sloped, grassy hill and onto the concrete platform. Kitasawa's there, in the shade of the bridge's belly. Her replicated mantle wraps around herself, believing that at any moment, she'll succeed in regaining a waiting glory. The effort wavers when she sees me.

"Y-You! You!..." Fully alerted, she gets up from her crouched position and withdraws with distaste. She couldn't refer to me as a "mutt," or anything harsh for that matter. The surrendered assassin only cared for her own skin. I, on the other hand, just proceeded to complete our distance that's prolonged by her cautious retreat.

A wind blows through the environment of beams and abutment. Fluttering, Kitasawa's cloak displays what's underneath: Mary's bondage work and the lack of underwear. Swiftly, Little Red Riding Hood pulls in the flying hem of the crimson cloth to veil this perversion that I made by rule.

> "You actually followed my orders, hmm? Though partially. I never permitted this exploration."
> "Mary made you into a fine work~ How does it feel to walk in public like that?"
> "Playtime is over, Red. It's too early for this, and you know that I hate being rough."
> (another option)

The Crown Quest

9830123132
King Teodric III comissioned from his archmages a crown that would allow him to take council from his most trusted advisors without having to say a word to them; and after long years of toil his archmages managed to deliver the artifact he asked for.

You are the Crown, a powerful artifact created by the archmages from the golden age of magic. You make a copy of the mind of everyone who wears you and you store it within yourself. The person whose mind is copied becomes incapacitated for awhile, the exact duration depends on how wise, smart and charismatic they are, the more the longer the incapacitation - an average person would become incapacitated for an hour maybe less, while a great sage could find himself incapacitated for a whole day.
After the incapacitation is out of the way the person using you has access to all the minds in the crown, who will answer truthfully any question asked even if the original mind would originally feel inclined to lie.
The minds inside the Crown interact with each and seem to be able to befriend and begrudge one another based on their personalities and past lives. The minds only have knowledge up to the point of the last time they were wore by the person from which they were copied. Upon being weared again after a long time has passed (a year or more) the incapacitation effect once again takes place. If a short time period has passed (less than a year), then only a dizziness lasting a few minutes up to an hour will take over the wearer as the Crown updates its mind copy.
It is unknown if there is any limit to how many minds the Crown can copy inside itself.

Currently you have stored within yourself the following minds:

> Archmage Eliphas Ravnos
> Archmage Goudar Falopus
> Archmage Durpos Erudar
> Apprentice Ermiel Sarduceu
> King Teodric III
> Councillor Silmon Furdinas
> Councillor Nardos Worlun
> Councillor Ruan Vorluras
> General Gregor Roskor
> Traitor Rudolph Kargas

You've only been used by the Archmages who created you, by one impudent apprentice, by the King himself, by his councilors and by one traitor, a double agent whose loyalty the King needed to ascertain so he decided to have him wear the Crown so that he could get answers from his mind copy.

The King unfortunately died without a heir; and his kingdom was plunged into turmoil, with dukes and barons waging wars against each other for the throne. And so the Crown laid forgotten for centuries.

You're currently inside the ancient tomb of the King Teodric III. But that is about to change as...

> A grave robber just entered the place and grabbed you
> A necromancer looking for corpses to animate stumbled upon you
> A bunch of peasants breached into the old tomb while digging the foundations for a new building
> A group of adventurers found the chamber after being hired by a greedy merchant to loot it

Heist Quest

8853222954_e3fedd492f_b
The morning sun dazzles across the bay as your streetcar glides up and down the hills and you thank God for air conditioning as the city zips by outside. Even with the strong winds off the water, the summer heat here is stifling, dogs panting on the street, children playing in the fountains, old-timers snatching catnaps in the shade. Of course the boss had to pick the hottest part of the year to do this job. You never got to explore Boston in the crisp fall, no way. It was always Bangkok in May or St. Petersburg in February. And this place was no different. You glance at the travel brochure the airport employee had pressed into your hand. “Corto Maltese!” it proclaimed. “Europe’s gateway to the Mediterranean!” You idly open it and look at the same stock photos of upscale boutiques, expensive restaurants, and opulent resorts you’d seen a thousand times already before stuffing it into your pocket with a sigh. There wasn’t going to be any time to enjoy it, even if it didn’t bore you to tears. It’s hard to make time for sightseeing when you’re there to rob the country blind.

In last thread’s episode of The Crocodile Hunter, our hero HARRY ‘TROUBLE MAGNET’ FLASHMAN just straight-up murdered canon by puking on a Shichibukai and then nat100ing himself into capturing Firefist Ace by accident. He also discovered that Garp has two pirate grandsons, and his belief in the justice of the Marines cracked further. Only faith in papaSmo can save him now... or can it? (Also, everyone loves Mr Speedy, and Roronoa Zoro got prison-beer.)

We, uh, now return you to your scheduled idiocy.

[Follow the road to the outskirts and see what you can find there. You might not be able to find any medicine, but it's way less dangerous than walking into a warzone. Plus you'll probably be able to find the essentials at the very least.]

[Stick to this area and explore the buildings nearest to you first. It might take you some extra time, but you should be able to find some stuff that'll help you later on. Or right now, for that matter...You're really hungry...]

Kancolle: Frog Quest 2 (Pastabote Edition)

>Previously

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/3388152/

>go to sleep (head to your classes early, Émile doesn’t expect you until later but you’re pretty sure getting some extra time in with her would not be a significant burden on the light cruiser and you need the lessons)

Morning rolls around gracefully and you awaken to the first light streaming to your window, your sister is nowhere to be found. Her bed remains empty throughout your morning routine. You briefly ponder your morning plans and decide to try and track down your light cruiser teacher. Poking about her dormitory room and the dining hall bears little results and takes a good half hour to locate the cruiser.

She stands near the mouth of the Italian base cross armed and intently watching three of her destroyers repeatedly launching mock torpedo attacks and paint rounds at an overwhelmed Le Terrible. Sensing your presence the light cruiser turns to your approach. “Provence.” she greets with a professional head nod.

You nod back. “Good morning,” you greet. “Morning practice?”

“Le Terrible wasn’t training.” she explains tersely. “I thought if she’s already mastered everything she needs to know she might as well prove it.”

You nod, based on the amount of paint covering the destroyer versus her compatriots, it seems like she’s proving an entirely different point.

You turn again to the light cruiser “When you decide she’s had enough, would you mind going through some more lessons with me? I’m still a bit lost in regards to modern formation fighting.”

She gives you a look that conveys moderate surprise. “That shouldn’t be a problem.” Émile turns to the destroyer melee. “Exercise end.” she calls, signaling a stop to the melee. “Le Terrible, come meet with me.”

The destroyer approaches the dock slowly with her head down and lagging at the heels of her sister and comrades, peppered dots of multicolored paint staining her clothes and ski. Eventually Le Terribly slows to a stops, just short of the two of you.

“Sorry.” Le Terrible mutters in a defeated tone, “I’ll get back to training again.”

The cruiser shakes her head and crouches, bringing herself closer to eye level to the exhausted girl, “This wasn’t a punishment. you did your best.” She offers in a tone of genuine sympathy “and I’m proud of you for fighting hard.”

Kingdom of Animals

1553964429107
Welcome back to the Kingdom of Animals!
You are a race of animals who have been given sentience, and are now set of on crafting a nation for your people. Will you rule with peace, trade, or an army and iron will? Let the story unfold and see whose nation will be left standing.

The first year is almost over. In the last thread, 6 nations appeared, and they are currentlly all struggling with many problems of their own, still trying to figure out the whole civilization thing.

Blue - Victoria (snow wolves)
Purple - Republic of Onee-san (penguins)
Gold - Atan (geckos)
Green - Kermitten (frogs)
Red - Xochiluatl (raptors)
Black - Urduk-Glarr (chimpanzees)
White - Pudovskin (bears)

Ability 2:

Power:
Defense:
Food: 50
Population: 100

You will have two actions for each of your turns two turns make a month.

At the end of each year you will receive population equal to ½ of your food. If your food is ever reduced to half of your population or lower your nation starts starving and you will lose population every month till it rises above half of your population.

Population -this number represent how many individuals live within your nation. If this number ever reaches 0 your nation is destroyed.

Tech -This number represent how well your nation can use technology to their advantage. This is a misc modifier that can be added to a variety of rolls.

Magic -This number represent how well your nation has a hold on magic and the use of it. This is a misc modifier that can be added to a variety of rolls.

Lore: just fluff for your civ.

Claiming an unclaimed hex space.
You may spend a resource of your choice to claim a hex adjacent to one you already have claim. Alternatively you can claim a hex not adjacent to one you own by spending +5 more per 2 hexes away it is
Spending resources to claim hex

This may change depending on what is in the hex you are trying to claim. I.e forest, mountains, swamps, etc.

Constructing roads in a hex is

NERV: Second Daughter #3

NERVop3
Previously on NERV: Second Daughter... Despite a brief respite from the Lilim's attacks, NERV pilot Holly Reynolds was only plunged deeper into a mire of conflict and conspiracy. After one of Doctor Bergmann's experiments brought Holly and Nate closer together, NERV's top pilot was left with more uncertainty than ever before – and even a trip to the Russian tundra couldn't cool her head. Now with Yulia Kuznetsova, the Fourth Daughter, by her side, Holly must decide who to trust!

“You can't steal that crap. That cabinet thing is locked up tighter than Fort Knox,” you mutter, looking into the pharmacy window. Right at the back of the shop is a locked cabinet, boxes of vibrant hair dye sealed inside smaller boxes. Each one of them has a security tag attached, primed to set off all kinds of alarms if it's smuggled out of the shop. If someone told you that the cabinet was booby-trapped, wired up to a hand grenade or something, you'd believe them. It's frankly ridiculous, how seriously they take their security. Stealing the morphine vials might be easier.

“I can steal it,” Claire promises, quiet resolve in her voice, “Just you wait and see.”

-

You wake up, immediately confronted by the unlovely sight of damp concrete, and a sigh escapes you. A pleasant dream for once. You still remember the day when Claire marched into school, her hair bright and victoriously pink. Stealing things was always her vice, the one habit she could never quite shake. It wasn't like she really wanted the things she took, which were usually petty at best, but she just lived for the thrill of it... and the attention. She never talked much about her folks, but you got the impression that they spent too much time fighting with each other to pay her any attention.

Maybe that was why you get along so well. From the very first moment of your very first meeting, a kinship existed between you. When NERV's offer came, and you asked her to accompany you, she never even hesitated.

My Elf Companion (Male) Can't Be This Cute! [2]

fookinelf1
>>3406061 (Previous thread)

Descending the stairs of elven architecture in your new elven abode, sure enough, a few balls of dancing light is waiting between the trees leading deeper into the forest. Complying with the orders given you follow those faerie lights. Along the journey of difficult terrain, you feel that the very lands itself had its sight locked on you. Just in the corner of sight can be seen glowing predatory eyes atop the trees peeping before fading, just a moment short from proper observation. Finally, you reached what seems to be a garden lined with white marble pillars and statues of elvish depiction. At the center of it all is what seems to be a birdbath, also made of marble, filled with crystal clear water reflecting the lunar lights. Sure enough without surprise you find Elder Moera nearby, tending to some flowers. On the contrary to your reaction, she seems shocked at finding you here of all places.

"Huma-! Ambassador Questus... what brings you here so late in the night? To my knowledge your kind is not nocturnal, barring select few."

"I was here under orders given to me, and by the quickness of the messenger I presume it is your fellow elf, Elder Moera. I was told to follow the faerie lights, that the elder awaits. Might I presume it was you?", you say, keeping a low and respectful tone.

"No... as a matter of fact I did not give you those orders nor had any intention for my men attend to you this night.", her monotone reply echoes throughout the garden.

She then returned her focus to her flowers, a row of what seems to be lilies, the tip of each petal faintly hinting to a deep red, yet the rest are snow white reflecting the silver moonlight of night. You're left to stand there at your own devices much to your bewilderment.

"Enchanting isn't it, Ambassador? These little ones right here only blooms at full moon. Just a little disturbance in the soil and it could kill the plant whole, wilt its beauty without hesitation. Your kind won't ever, if not rarely gaze your eyes on such beauty. Your soil are detached from mother Earth, sullied and devoid of her grace free to be melded in your own perverse image."

>Request to retire for the night
>Admire the garden for a little bit more

Civilization Battles

Civilization2.0. with tutorialsjpg
I made a thread like this yesterday and I've added more races and worked on turn format I think it should be smoother.Four people pick separate races and three of them agree upon a map or all four can agree upon a hardmode map (Only 8 species can live on the barren moon and it makes for a boring, quick game.) After the game is set I will tell everyone their current situation and they will take a turn to attempt an action, some actions will take multiple turns. Last faction or factions standing (diplomacy is always an option remember unless you already burned that bridge) wins. If popular enough I got awhile to do this. All I ask is not to spam during other players turns

Persons of Interest - Issue#3

poi
Try the new and exciting character-driven capeshit quest in an original universe that has yet to have its first official superhero or public persona with any sort of powers

__________________________________________________________________________

Previously on Persons of Interest...
Your sister, Cam, was caught for shoplifting and bought home by a police officer, invoking the wrath of your already abusive father. While he ordered you to get out of the way and the policeman to leave without legal repercussions, you notice for the first time that your father had a form of mind-control, and also that you could fight against it.
You tried to save your sister from him and in the short ensuing fight you accidentally shoot Cam while she were invisible and kill your father for good. In the time you wait for emergency services to arrive you notice that you too have a super power. You can feel out for people and transfer the wounds of others onto yourself, but healing yourself from it soon after. A power you dubbed bio-sync since it also helped against your fathers mind-control and might be good for even more things...
You opt not heal her completely to have evidence for your fathers misdeeds on her since she was unconscious and you already healed the lethal parts.
In the hospital you cooperated with the police fully and had the time to talk with a lawyer, a public defender, and plead not guilty on the account of homicide, merely killing in defense of another person who would have had the right to use lethal force for self defense.
Talking to a psychologist as well you found that you could use the foster care system for the next one and a half years until you’re 18 so you can gain legal guardianship of Cam.

Finally alone and most of the hassle dealt with you had a talk with Cam who strongly opted to use your powers for good, even though you have not yet figured out how to use your healing powers and her invisibility for something like crime-fighting.

The day came to an end and you got one too many meals from the nurse to which you invited the detective who keeps watch over you (which was better than being in a jail cell) into the hospital room to eat dinner with you.

And now we continue...

Commentarii de Bello Indica - CAPVT VIII-β

Tessarakonteres
Though the timely gift of fig-wine prevented the spilling of blood, the Keeper of the Gate remained adamant in his forbidding of Caesar's entry into the palace. It was no major loss, certainly, given that he was only here to restock and resupply. He did not plan on overstaying his welcome, especially when said welcome was near nonexistent. With the visit to the palace fulfilling his guest-duty as a member of the Greek mercantile class visiting a foreign port, Caesar was free; free to oversee the restocking of his ship's supplies (finally getting rid of the figs which were beginning to go overripe) and to check in with Micah the Jew to see to the purchase of necessary goods if he wished. Or was he?

[Welcome to the eight-and-a-halfth chapter of the Commentarii. QM Curse is apparently very real. This is a quest that tries to update once a day, going for a more languid pace than the hectic ones that other QMs who can write faster and better run. On some days it will have more than one updates, which means I either have a surprising amount of free time or I am procrastinating from my actual work.

You can read the previous archives here:

And now, on with the quest!]

>Gave the disgusting fig-wine to the guards in the guise of a generous bribe

Every day is market day in the riverside roads of Muziris. A motley crew of international origins (Romans, Greeks, Africans, Persians) rub shoulders as they fill their pockets with Indian spice, spilling Roman silver or gold in exchange for pellets of pepper. Even this far east, the value and integrity of Roman coinage is unquestionable.

You rub away the thin film of peppery dust off the round sestertius you received as change from a street-food vendor. The coin glints with the youthful glimmer of a newly-minted coin, struck maybe fifteen or twenty years ago at most. The face emblazoned on the silver coin is Indian, however, the original portrait of Augustus crudely etched off to be replaced with a round-nosed individual wearing a crown. The bow and arrow symbol that is everywhere in Muziris makes it clear who the face is supposed to belong to.

Panzermagd Quest #13

2
Your name is Samuel Armistead. You are a drafted soldier for the Vereinigte Commonwealth. You are currently under quarantine for contamination from foreign nano-machine threats and being interrogated by a superior officer from project Valkyrie; a black project which at this point may have made multiple attempts to have you incarcerated or killed. You’re now discussing the finer points of the fiction you concocted to avoid making that quarantine permanent and keep your passenger under wraps. Not that you’re certain it will work, since Mia has informed you that at some point you’ve been implanted with the necessary housing and management hardware to maintain a population of metaforms in your system… That probably should have come up in a physical, and yet only now are you getting the isolation treatment… You’re sincerely hoping you’re not walking into a trap.

Colonel Overton simply drills straight to the crux of your half-truth: “This guy seems neat; mind if I talk to him?”. Not an order, completely understandable request after the necessary handling occurs, but no matter how direct this man seems, you can’t take him at face value. He tips his hand before every question, but that doesn’t make his statements any weaker. He doesn’t set traps, he simply pushes you forward, waiting for you to walk into a dead end. You imagine there’s a followup even to this request if he doesn’t like your answer.

“I’ll look into it-“

[No. This isn’t going to be a thing. Hedge it if you can but make clear it won’t happen.]

You’re put off balance by the interjection, “… I mean I’d like to make it happen, but I think he’s a bit paranoid. It took some talking to get him cooperating in the first place.” The room feels hot.

“Not a fan of the Vereinigte? We might have made a few demands a while back… Most of them ended up on the payroll, but there’s more than enough rogues and traitors.” He lets the last words hang for a moment. “Rogue then? Convenient. Probably best for him since this is going to mean more door kicking.”

“There’s going to be a crackdown over this? Isn’t this whole thing a foreign threat?”

“They haven’t done anything too wrong Lance; they’re just risks. It’s not like we’re hanging them.” He turns up a hand. “If we assume the IRH was sending their best, they’ve now got better: We can’t afford making it easy for them to adapt or fix what they stole… We can’t afford to find out if one of these dabblers actually had a breakthrough.”

He looks at you pointedly, “But you should let your salvager know I’m going to find him. Nothing personal; but I don’t have the luxury of leaving talent like that to its own devices.”

[Called it.] Mia’s tone is smug, but there’s an edge of discomfort

Civilization adventure

Civilization2.0
four people pick separate races and three of them agree upon a map or all four can agree upon a hardmode map (Only 8 species can live on the barren moon and it makes for a boring, quick game.) After the game is set I will tell everyone their current situation and they will take a turn to attempt an action, some actions will take multiple turns. Last faction or factions standing (diplomacy is always an option remember unless you already burned that bridge) wins. If popular enough I got awhile to do this. All I ask is not to spam during other players turns and end all game related post with your species name at the end so I can properly keep track and it makes my job slightly easier. Any questions, ask away

Lad in Sengoku II

nobunagas-ambition-sphere-of-influence_conceptart_Z4wm1
You are Ikeda Mitsumasa, Mitsu for friends. Your incredible luck with the spear has earned you the title Yari Oni, Demon Spear, though some still call you the Oni Horosho, demon vagrant.

A few months passed since Harada successfully took over the hometown of the Akitas. It was now fall, leaves fell from the trees and harvest was in full motion. You were part of the reconstruction effort of the capital of the former Akita Clan, now seat of the Harada Clan. Your job was to listen to the complaint of the locals, send compensation to the families of the fallen, direct the reconstruction of certain areas, and a whole bunch more things, all as boring as the last, but a hectic list of tasks nonetheless.

You were sitting about atop a hill on one of your resting days, lazily holding on to your yari, with your trusty katana at your side. The sun was setting behind Harada Castle. You decided to think about all that’s happened in the past few months, in case someone from another dimension were to be listening in to your thoughts.

Harada sat as head of the Harada Clan in the capital. Casualties during the siege were rather high, around two hundred on Harada’s side and a complete wipeout on the side of the Akitas. After hearing that the castle fell and that lady Oya was most likely dead, the reinforcements returned to their homes and plotted away their summers. Some joined with Harada, some sought protection of other clans.

Harada had finally begun to teach you the way of the Yari. He was a ruthless teacher, but it helped you learn a few tricks with the thing, like how to properly use it outside of the stabbing with the pointy end strategy.

[Yari skill: 40/100]

Lady Oya, meanwhile, had lived. She and her son were imprisoned in a mansion within the castle grounds. You’d seen her a few times since, and her eyes bit you like an infuriated serpent. A scary woman, even when missing an arm. The proper heir of the Akitas would be raised as a retainer of Harada Clan, at least that’s what Harada ordered.

And that was the extent of the summer. Harada’s insanity had receded, and some of the ashigaru who were with you, including the old man, had been raised to retainer status. This whole thing felt more like an army of Ashigaru overthrowing some Samurai in order to become the new Samurai.

Harada had convened to meet with you later in the week, after the month’s council was over. Said it was time for you to be reassigned somewhere else. There were grounds to believe that Harada would give you some good status, considering the whole Yari Oni thing, but you had no knowledge of the details.

Anyhow, you still had some spare time before the reunion, maybe you should…

>Go meet that old one-eyed ashigaru who became a retainer of Harada’s.
>See if you can meet Lady Oya, try to learn more about what happened to lord Akita.
>Help out with the reconstruction directly. Folks should like you more.

Fightan Magic Quest

300px-The_Book_of_Weeaboo_Fightan_Magic
Once again you find yourself in a fight you can't win. The other boy is nearly twice your age and more than twice your height. Today he's decided he's going to dismantle you personally, but you're sure it won't be long before the lackeys at his side join in on the fun.

He is Trull Drummond, son of one of the guildmasters in charge of Scarleton. You are Hercman Fletcher. Herc to your friends (if you had any) and son of the elephant god, Gorn, which is a fancy way of saying that you're an orphan living in the local temple.

Trull Drummond doesn't like orphans, he also doesn't like it when people challenge him, he's also very physical about his opinions. Ergo, the fist currently lodged in your gut; thank Gorn you skipped breakfast this morning. The worst part of all this, is that it could've all been entirely avoided. In fact you're suddenly having trouble remembering why you got into this fight in the first place--possibly because of the blow you just took to the head.

>It was because Trull started talking rot about your dearly departed mother and you wanted to shut him up
>It was because Trull was harassing a girl from the temple and you wanted to look cool
>It was because Trull was trying to extort money from another orphan and you wanted to bring him to justice

Do Your Best Quest #67

1490
Nariko is sobbing on the floor after questioning why she’s alive in a type of mental breakdown you have never seen before. You don’t have to remind yourself of the many people who have suffered this way in front of you – and while you’re keeping some kind of twisted score or anything, Nariko’s feels the most pathetic and saddening of them all.

This time, right here, you’re going to put a stop to her suffering! Or at least try to put a stop to it…

“Nariko, I know how it feels to do your best and still fail. It wasn't long ago that I felt the same way you are after almost dying to help Neko. Everyone was against me and I felt like a burden to them, same as you.” One of the hardest reality-checks you’ve endured through in your life!

Nariko stops sobbing to raise her beanie a fraction, listening intently. You seize the moment and continue talking!

“But do you know what I did? I tried to change myself. If I let myself fall into an endless state of self-deprecation, nothing would change and I'd just prove myself right. If you're so worried about being a burden, you have to pick yourself up and promise you’re going to do better next time. Not to anyone else, but to yourself.” Without hesitating, you reach down to grab her hand and pull her up to her feet. Nariko glances at you holding her hand for a second, before wiping the tears on her face.

“If you do that, you'll improve no matter how long it takes. That's all you or anybody can ask of you Nariko: to Do Your Best. If you do that, I'll always accept you.” You nod at her and smile. Mom always said to do your best, and that your family and friends would appreciate it in the end. Maybe it wasn’t all about feeling content with your efforts if you tried, but to understand the same applies to the people you love – it’s enough to know they are trying with all their might, that’s how you know they love you…

Maybe you’re reaching, but hey, you’re figuring things out all by yourself, right? It took you two years to get this far…

“And if you can't pick yourself up, then listen up Nariko! Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me. Believe in the Johnny who believes in you!” The moment the words leave your mouth, you get a sick bittersweet taste in it… Going so far as to stealing other people’s catchphrases… what are you, Amelia?! Good thing you know Nariko is the type of girl who adores these types of passionate speeches!

Nariko’s eyes widen, looking up at you. The speech must have worked!

The Quest of the Branded Ones

tegaki
In the last part of the journey, a viking and a princess have now escaped a prison with the help of a trusty royal guard. After commandeering a ship from the prison guards on the island, they have now set course for an uncharted island to start anew.

-----

Ursd grabbed one of the Captain's old tomes, a journal detailing past dealings with the Empire. He flipped through it for a moment, then began to skim through the pages.

The man could have been an accountant. All cargo was accounted for. Every bit of inventory was catalogued on pickup and drop off, down to the last unit. He dealt majorly in Cragstone, Ursd noted, as well as some more... illicit contraband. Neyba herbs, Larba crystals. Stimulants and hallucinogens. So the Captain wasn't always above the board.

The journal entries shed a bit more light on some important topics however, especially the final entry.

" *...the sailing is smooth. No err to report. Moderate wind. Good fuel levels. First mate said land ho. Confused. No islands recorded here on the charts. Have made the choice to check out the island. Coordinates are -34, -47.* .."

Ursd double checked. Those coordinates on the maps and charts he had all led to that same, damned island. Lazet. So this captain had been the one to discover it? Then where was he now? There were too many unanswered questions.

"Are you alright?"

Ursd almost jumped from the desk, fists ready, until he realized it was Ana behind him. She didn't seem to mind.

"Yes... Ana?" he asked. He had to admit, he wasn't upset about this. He had been feeling a need for someone to talk to. Unlike many of his people, he'd always been a social one - even if he spoke very little. He liked to hear others talking. It soothed him.

"You've been deep in thought for a while. It's already almost eleven." Ana claimed, pointing at the small stopwatch laying on the captain's desk. "I was wondering what could have had you so enraptured."

"...Studies." Ursd replied, pointing at the book. "Something to pass the time, I suppose. The captain's logs are interesting. I was about to ask one of the crew about something in it though."

"Oh? What?" Ana replied, intrigued.

>Ask her about Lazet island.
>Ask her about the boat itself.
>Tell her about the cargo they may currently be carrying.
>Tell her it's nothing. But make sure you check with the crew later.

A Magic City

Untitled-2
A magic City

Welcome to Silverlin, The Arcane Eye.
A mage city housing many style of magic for anyone mage to enjoy. Weather blasting your foes to bits or constructing a sceptical of illusions, there is a district of magic in the walls of the gray stone city of Silverlin.
You just arrived city and take a quick tour guide to get familiar with what the place has to offer. A dwarf with a wide brim hat takes the gathered crowed across 8 different walled off districts of the city.

Al-lux: A variable den of debauchery and sin, here is where one can go to satisfy their urges in many ways, as the brothels line the streets with smiling courtesans at the doors using their friendly attitudes and sometimes sly magic to bring in customer

The Eyes: Here you can find many shops offering a glimpse into the future, or the past. Help you find a missing person, or yourself.

Fel-Ward: A place where summoners gather to bring forth creatures from all kinds of realms

Fizze Diocese: One would be wise to mind their heads while in this part of the city, for wizards who practice the art of battle magic can be found sparing in the unlikely of places. Shoot shards of ice, or globes of acid in every direction. The people here have grown accustom to the rowdy display and are quite lively themselves. Quinn Geth is a gnome who runs the Evocation school here and does so with a smile to new comers but keeps a cold whip to take care of anyone who oversteps their bounds.
.

Fleshwall: The first thing one will notice upon entering the doors of this area is the overwhelming smell of rotting flesh. A smell that thankfully is nullified by wards placed to keep it contained in Fleshwall. What is noticed next are the totting swarms of shambling corpses that follow behind their masters, or the chattering bones behind stalls selling wares to passerby's.When a body is to be made into an undead they would go to the alchemist who runs the school of necromancy to get it registered

The Gilded Heart: When one needs to find that is hard to come by they go to the Bazaar city of The Gilded Heart and browse the many stalls that host a great many things to purchase for varying prices that can change on a whim. Here is where magical merchants can make their fortune , or lose it all to the tides

Graystone: this district stands as the city of Silverlins first line of defense from outside forces and also acts as the enforcing will of the cities laws that all mages within its walls adhere by. Located here is the guild of protective abjuration magic and the training halls of The Silver Ward. Along with housing for military personal, guards in training and political embassy concerning the safety of Silverlin and its people.

Parish of Dreams- Those not satisfied with the world come here to make their dreams come true or find other entertainment to make their worries disappear.

for this quest I want to have a bunch of different players, which means those who want to join get to make their own.

Strikers 2016

Everything about this drawing screams awesome as hell.
So.. let's see. News. Uh.. discovered a youtube channel Kent Rollins? he does cowboy cooking and it looks bloody amazing. Haha. (send help I can't stop watching)

Archive here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Strike%20Witches%202016 For anyone just coming in, there was an... abortive attempt at getting this going last year. The strikers 16 reboot is what you're looking for- the original attempt has little to do with this run, other than a few character names you may see.

Anyway, I think that's it for news as such, so let's get rolling!

===============================================================================================================

You were up on time this morning, though you’re starting to regret it.

Your alarm went off at 04 in the morning, which was plenty of time to cook a simple breakfast, make coffee, make a second pot of coffee for a thermos, go on your morning run, shower and clean up, and still have some time to sit and catch up on the news. You regret the news mostly- it’s an election year and that’s all anyone seems to want to talk about, much to your disappointment. There’s plenty of news in southeast Asia, with Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand all undergoing massive armament and military expansion programs, and the Philippines enacting a new national service law for their witches. Even Taiwan and the South Koreans are spending a huge amount of cash on new hardware and training efforts. Of course, the news out of the larger powers in the region- Japan and China- are about the same story, with the IJN laying down two more destroyers of their Maya class in the last four months.

You hit the door kind of glad to be able to turn it all off- while you’ve never much cared for the news, this year seems particularly bad, especially with the elections being the circus they are. Your own opinion is it doesn’t matter to you- even during the worst of the recession, the wyvern program didn’t get touched, and you’re already plugged, and assigned to a jet. Since Wyvern crews always go on basis of ‘oldest first’, you’d be the last they got rid of, just because of that.

At least, that’s what you tell yourself.

Instead you find yourself headed to operations again. You’re getting kind of excited- two flights left in the trial period, and then it’s on to the real meat of the training, your deck tour, and on to the operational pool. It’s kind of hard to not be excited- the sun is alread crawling over the horizon, and the pair of black Toyota SUVs in the lot indicates Kyou is already on site- probably down in the observation room.

Carrotman Quest

83971933123
You're Carrotman, you have the power of the carrots. You've been wandering through Veggie Town when you saw a small pebble that didn't look quite like the others - it was shining, shimmering, splendid! It was right then that you realized that you had to become a new kind of man in order to pursue your highest aspirations. You packed all your shit that wasn't much and the shining stone and went on a journey of self discovery. After travelling for seven hours you got hungry and was about to turn back when you saw a restaurant. You didn't had any money so you asked if they were needing any help. They hired you to do deliveries for them and so you went. After a few hours you got enough money to afford a hot meal. After a few more hours you got enough money to afford a bed and breakfast.
You could live your life like that, day after day working for your keep. And so you did for six months. You saved some money. But you wanted to reach enlightenment. You thanked the good people at the restaurant for giving you a job and then departed seeking a master.
You arrived at a monastery. There you found a master sitting in deep meditation.
He asked the master "How can I reach enlightenment?"
"Don't do anything violent, only do what is just and in equilibrium."
"Is that all?"
"Well, it's easy to say, but hard to practice."
Carrotman then spent ten years studying with the master in the temple. He became a monk and learned how to control his temper.
But oh no! Carrotman spent too long without consuming carrots! He lost his carrot powers! You also lost your shiny pebble at some point and you don't remember when.

What will Carrotman do?
> Continue to pursue the path towards enlightenment and spend ten more years in the temple
> Go back to visit Veggie Town to eat loads of carrots and hopefully regain his carrot powers
> Abandon the monk life and go back at being a wageslave
> Become a travelling beggar monk never sleeping twice in the same place again

You are Jonathan Wells, once a war hero during the great war, now the current governor of Arkuland. The first city in a new contient, built by the two superpowers (The Northern Union and The Eastern Wing Countries) after centuries of hostilities between them.

Currently, you are on your way back to the city with your economic advisor after dealing with a sensitive problem involving the fate of three Westerners who were plotting to assassinate you. Of all the suggested choices, You chose not to utilize torture to extract information from them as per the Humanitarian rights law . Both Superpowers are not aware of this incident just yet to avoid unwanted ramifications without solid evidence.

King Arthur Monster Girl Quest

swordystoneystabstab
Eighteen years ago, Avalon was at peace. King Uther reigned with a just hand over human and mamono alike. The dark rule of the Lilim Lefay was but a chapter of history, now over, and the world could rebuild.

Eighteen years ago, King Uther and Queen Igraine's first child, Morgan Pendragon, left to secure any relics lost in Lefay's keep. She was a bright girl, stubborn and foolhardy like her father.

She never returned.

Wearing her body like a depraved joke, Lefay brought destruction and devastation to the castle of Camelot. Hordes of mamono, forced under her control, stormed the city. In order to buy enough time for his wife and his people to escape, Uther Pendragon sacrificed his life fighting Lefay. His sword was lost in the chaos.

Eighteen years had passed, and Arthur Pendragon, heir to a throne he had never seen, king of a castle he had never been to, knew that the day he and Lefay were meant to meet was swiftly approaching.

However, he had a hard time focusing on these thoughts as he landing hard on the ground, dazed and staring at the sky.

"Come on, boy- you're not done yet."

Arthur was starting to feel a little foolish, deciding to train his swordsmanship against honorary father figure and current kicker-of-his-ass, Sir Gawain, so close to noon. The sun shone overhead, reflecting off the knight's dark skin as he tapped his two practice blades together in a taunt. At least he hadn't broken out Galatine.

Getting back to his feet, Arthur brought up his own sword and shield, and considered his options.

>Turtle up- the best offense is a good defense, and it'll give you time to plan (INT: Roll 2d6+1 and write in your plan)
>Go all out- he won't expect that! Speed and aggression is key! (STR: Roll 2d6+0)
>Swing low, sweet chariot- and hit him where it hurts (AGI: Roll 2d6+2)

(Alright I'm gonna wait about twenty minutes between posts, let's have some fun!)

Bioweapon Hunter Quest 29

Bioweapon Hunter Quest OP

Currently, a band of what you had to assume were Umbrella affiliated mercenaries were closing in on your family ranch, with only you and Mom's caretaker T-Doll Springfield present to defend it.

Thankfully, it seemed that Mom was expecting something like this to happen, and the ranch had no shortage of stockpiled weapons and prepared defenses. In addition to the fortified bunker and accompanying armory laying beneath the ranch, there was also a comprehensive surveillance system, and all the walls had armor plate in them strong enough to repel most types of weaponry. Hell, there were booby traps that could be set up.

Mom was certainly scarily well prepared.

"It appears the the convoy has stopped roughly half a mile away." Springfield informs you, her systems directly integrated into the Ranch's security systems, giving her an eye on everything in the immediate vicinity.

"Probably don't want to get caught in another ambush." You nod. "It's likely they'll proceed on foot through the forest for cover."

"That should give us plenty of time to get these set up!" Springfield points to the cache of booby traps. Mines, sentry guns, tripwires, barbed wire, and more.

>Use the time to fortify the house.
>Have Springfield set up the defenses while you go harass the enemy.
>You should both strike the enemy while they're still organizing.

Nothing Short of a Miracle 6

opopopopopop
Spring has come.

Through the soft coat of snow that gently lays over the island, tufts of grass burst out to catch sunlight. The buds on trees begin to open, and birds perch on the branches, chirping away.

Sometimes, it feels like a dream.

“Should I get an eyepatch?” you ask. You stare out the massive window beside your bed, watching the people below move around like ants.

“Like a pirate?” Ember asks. Her voice deepens as she makes a hook with her hand. “Arrrg! Could be cool.”

Rye stares at her in awe before snorting. To Ember, she says, “You should be a little more considerate.”

With her hands together, Lilac tells you, “Eyepatches are in fashion!” and then stops for a second. “...I think.”

Ember exclaims, “Pirate fashion!” She swings her legs around and over while sitting in her chair so she can place her arms on the backrest. Her expression is tinged with uncertainty as she imagines something and then comes to a conclusion. “Nah, that’s kinda lame. A little too vintage, you know?”

Rye sighs. “Ember, please. They’re used outside of the Anlaecende.”

She’s right! Normally when you lose an eye around here, you’d make a quick trip to the castle clinic and get a new one. For you, it’s a little tricky, considering your close encounter with the shard has left you completely unable to even perceive the concept of “sight with another eye”. Crossed wires in your brain, the doctors reason, or something like that. Since you’re completely functional without having to go through the trouble of messing with the soft, squishy pudding used for thinking inside your skull, everyone has decided it’s better to leave it alone unless things worsen somehow. Luckily, they have not.

Lilac stumbles off her bed to properly see you. You meet her gaze in kind, and she points out, “I don’t think you need an eyepatch—you look great.” To end it, she shows you her signature weak smile where she thinks her smile doesn’t look nice but wants to give one anyways. She does that a lot, you realize.

“Aw, thanks,” you reply, “But I think it freaks some people out.” You stare back at the window, and just barely, you can see your reflection. A strange rectangle floats in a milky iris. You’ve visited the clinic a few times to get it checked out and even replaced, but for some reason, they all turn out the same way.

Ember pouts. “But pirates don’t care what other people think.”

You blink. “I think you’re skipping a few steps there.”

What should you do?
>You’re fine as you are.
>Maybe an eyepatch will do.
>Get... a fake eye?
>Write-in.

I Used To Be A Dog But I Got Run Over By A Truck And Got Reincarnated As A Royal Knight?

2269670-bigthumbnail
Life was good. Life was simple. Belly rubs from your 12-year old master, Beth. The occasional scrap of food that her baby brother threw down during dinner time. That golden-haired bitch that lived across the street with that sweet, sour scent coming from her...

Well anyway, a Honda Activity ("Acty" to those in the know) put an end to all of that. To be fair, you had a hand in your own demise. You wanted play hero--really it was instinct. And it wasn't even Beth that you rescued, it was some random little girl that ran into the street after her balloon. You saved her life and now she's crying over your mangled corpse. And that's the last thing you see, not Beth's braces when she smiles and her red hair falling over your snout, but this little girl's pure blue eyes filling with tears.

Blood flows out of you into the street and unconsciousness follows.

"Good boy. Just a little more now." Says a great old voice, kind of like Beth's father, in the way that it makes you feel safe and reassured, but older, deeper, denoting him as a master of more than dogs. It's dark here and there's nothing but the voice, but even that fades.

"Wake up!"

You open your eyes and bark. "What the hell?" That wasn't a bark. Your eyes adjust to the sudden light in the room. A young woman in a maid costume is fiddling with the curtains.

"Don't you go back to sleep. Lady Bluebell is going to scold me again. And you too. Get up." She says.

You look down. You're not a dog anymore, you're a man. Like Beth's father, only not so old. Many things go through your mind. Hunger, thirst, the weirdness of fingers, the absolute beauty of colors, the feeling of nakedness from having hair only on your head and face, the pounding headache and smell of alcohol on your breath, the strange burden of language and higher thinking.

The maid rounds on you and puts her hands on her hips. "Will you get up already?" Golden hair and that sweet, sour scent. She reminds you of--"Roxy?" A twitches passes through her face.

"Roxanne. It's Roxanne! How many times do I have to--just get up!" She begins to push against your shoulders, but the difference in strength is like that of a flea and..well, a dog.

>You should get some breakfast first of all, man and dog still have the same basic needs
>Go back to sleep. Maybe this is a bad dream. Do dogs dream? Was being a dog the dream?
>Smell Roxanne, smelling things has always led to answers in the past

Dragon Ball: Human Quest Super #8

A little girl...
Your... little girl.

It's still weird to hear that. Especially when she calls you dad.
But... this is apparently your life now. And hers.

"Well-"
You stretch your arms out and entwine your fingers before cracking them.
"It's not like I wasn't doing this already."

"What's that daddy?"

"N-Nothing."
You stand up and proceed to walk into the kitchen.
"Hold on, I just need to get in character."

Moving over to the fridge and take out a can of Monster Energy Zero Ultra.
Cracking it open you start sipping it before making an audible "Ah" noise.
"Okay. Now I'm ready."
You look over to the girl and start pondering what to do with her.

>Well... we can't have you walking around without a name
>Okay kids. Pack your stuff and let's have a little celebration back on my home planet!
>Hmmmm... Oren, Kamin. Could you look after her for a bit? I got stuff to do (Meet up with Kale like you were supposed to)

Mysterious Train #2

Mysterious Train #2
Last Thread: >>3415206

You and the strange Old Man that looks like Orson Welles have just finished destroying a bar full of ghoulish shape shifters that feed on men's dreams and assume their forms after finally devouring their bodies in their sleep. After the successful mission you asked the Old Man for some hard answers as he quickly lead you away from the dreamlike Victorian city back into the equally strange train you had arrived on. Promising to answer all your questions the moment you were both back in your private car sharing a well earned drink. As you board the train you see the town slowly start to disintegrate as if it had never existed and quickly find the train traveling in the strange limbo like countryside it had been moving through earlier. The Old Man takes out a five hundred year old wine from a cabinet in 'your' private car and sits down pouring both of you a glass. You sit down and join him for a drink and he says, "Well, what do you want to know?"

>Ask him what the hell is going on

>Ask him to be more specific as to what the nature of the train and 'place' you're were just at and will be heading into

>Ask him you'll ever return home

>Ask him how you got here

>Ask him how he created the fire in the bar. Is it some kind of "magic?"

>Ask him why some of those shadowy creatures like the servant on your train are safe and others are dangerous

>Ask him who he is

>Ask him where you are going

Fate/City Akeldama Part VIII

Fate City Akeldama Part VIII
You are Yumigawa Rushorou, and you're taking a break from the Holy Grail War.
You've changed a great deal since waking up in an abandoned parking garage in the middle of a burning city. A week ago, you were a 5'9" tall student, 100% human, and had a fairly different face. You'd also never been in a fight. Since then, you've been dragged into a free-for-all death game known as the Holy Grail War, learned of the existence of magic, contracted a semi-divine witch to fight by your side, and been reforged into a "conceptual being," an inhuman imitation of ancient heroes. That was all on the first day.

The Holy Grail War is a battle between seven magi, contracted to the spirits of seven heroes of the past, classified as Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Each duo is known as a Master and Servant, and when only one pair remains the two are promised one wish from the omnipotent Holy Grail each. So far, Saber, Lancer, and Assassin have been eliminated; you've successfully managed to sustain a contract with Berserker and Caster at the same time; and only two of the seven Masters remain alive. It's the afternoon of the eighth day of the war, and you're having a chat with your Servants.

New Teen Titans Quest #1

New_Teen_Titans_vol_1_logo
"Hear my voice now, for you will have important work to do...."

Hovering in the darkness, that voice is all you know, the only thing to make you aware that you even exist in the first place. It's gentle, female, but that's all you know, for you can't see who it is that's actually speaking to you. Even when you feel your eyes open, all you're greeted with is an all-consuming darkness.

No, there's another sensation. For as you attempt to move, you feel something strong pressing against your limbs, keeping you locked in place (wherever that even is). At first, you worry that, in the darkness, some terrible creature has set upon you and caught you in its vice-like grip. But no, the cold feeling accompanying the unmoving thing keeping you in place tells you that you're dealing with metal restraints.

Of course, this new knowledge brings with it a host of questions that race through your mind at a dizzying pace. Where are you? Why are you here? Whose voice was that? All of these questions race through your mind, only to fade away as your only company in this seemingly-endless void returns to you.

"Listen closely, my friend," the woman's voice tells you gently. "You are trapped, but you must free yourself."

>A. How?

>B. "Who are you?"

>C. "Where am I?"

>D. Ask why she doesn't free you

>E. Attempt to struggle free

Ashes of Rhysode [Re:CODED] I

Ashes of Rhysode [Remake] Art by Kuro
You glance at the tablet again, making sure that you hadn’t misread the details. Your arm must have followed the same pattern for at least the last hour. Every time you raise the dim glow of the screen to your face, you pray for it to be a trick of the light or a typo that the spelling correction software had overlooked. There were thousands of dialects and tongues out there, after all. Thousands of worlds, hundreds of colonies and settlements that existed on those worlds; surely this was just a misspelling?

GAIA-0401
ASSIGNMENT: LD-065 GREYHOUND
R. POINT: Kerensky Theta, E-0020

It doesn’t change.

You fall back onto your bed, letting out a great grumble of dissatisfaction as your eyes rest on a point in a once-familiar ceiling. Your quarters were barren. The bulk of your belongings had found a new, albeit temporary, home in a storage unit in the southern outskirts of Rhysode Alpha. There was no sense leaving your things here. By tonight, these premises would be off-limits to you. You’d be a fully-activated serviceman of The Imperial Aegis by tomorrow morning … and these premises belonged to the Cadets. The fourth-years—or the ones that still held reason to hope for a sparkling military career—were eager to take their rooms early. The bulk of them had already positioned their belongings out in the hallway, warming their key cards and ID for activation. The dormitories were in the middle of what could be called a reset of sorts, allocating the “new” arrivals … and kicking the old ones out. Your ID would be invalid by the evening’s arrival, but you expected to be out long before then. Most of your fellow graduates had left early in the morning to check into hotels, blow whatever change they could scrounge for a day on the town or prepare themselves for tonight’s unofficial graduation party.

You give your room’s bare cupboards, shelves and lockers one last glance before turning your gaze to your rucksack, filled to the brim with everything—

No, not quite. Your wallet was still there in your desk drawer. You don’t know why you’d tossed it in there last night instead of putting it in one of your bag’s compartments. One glance at the damned thing told you that there was more than enough space for it, bulky as it looked.

Your doorbell sounds, the indicator on the side turning green as you find yourself graced with expected company.

Hey, man, you in there?

‘No, Ryosuke,’ you answer sarcastically, getting to your feet. ‘I’m dangling from the ceiling in unmitigated despair.’

You push the button on the right. The metal door slides open, revealing the gleaming red visor and shocking blue compliment of hair that made up the bulk of your friend’s visage.

Necromancer Detective Quest 35

42-33047306
Last time, Charles learned how to control and undead cat and how to project himself into said undead cat. The alarm got raised and Larry was instrumental in their escape. Henry and Johnny got some information from an old friend in the Nirdec Caverns corpse market. Henry and Johnny now find themselves at the house of Requin Del Mar, guild mage and apparently the cause of the recent monster attack.

Quest rules:
1. All dice rolled are assumed to be D100 unless otherwise stated
2. The first two rolls will be given far greater importance, but additional rolls, good or bad, will affect the outcome. This choice ultimately falls to the Lorekeeper, odd circumstances may cause him to change how the story progresses (a ton of crits for instance)
3. All dice rolls are final
4. Critical fails are considered to be between 1-5, Critical hits are between 95-100. Crits overpower any other roll except another crit. In the rare chance that a crit fail and crit success happen. The Lorekeeper will do something interesting from a story angle. Similarly, rolling 2 of the same number will be considered a MEGA crit, just pray its two high numbers.
5. Near misses may occur, where a rolled number is close to the required threshold, whether over or under. This can have an impact on how the story proceeds. However these are up to the decision of the Lorekeeper.
6. Sometimes there are optional choices one may participate in, these will generally NOT be taken unless there are multiple posters who wish it, assuming there are multiple posters in the thread
7. There are often times choices with multiple parts, each part is counted separately, unless otherwise stated, sometimes rolls will be required before counting the second, third, etc, part
8. There will be “Time Limited” decisions, in which characters may only do a set number of actions, these will be clearly marked. Generally you will only be able to choose one decision per ‘round’.
9. Rules may be subject to change between threads, but will not change during the same thread. These rules are what we will follow for the remainder of this thread.

Mid Boss Quest Part 24

In The Depths
Finally after two years in the service of the Dark Queen Quintis you have finally been promoted. No more marching through filthy peasant villages administering the Queen's justice, this is your chance to rise through the ranks of her Majesty's armies and become one of her generals, or so you thought.

Being placed in a garrison out in the middle of nowhere wasn't the promotion you had imagined, but after the death of your commander, your rise through the ranks seemed that much more possible. Through your leadership, your garrison holds its ground through an assault and infiltration by rebel forces and manages to capture two of its heroes. After transporting the two of them to the Capital, Queen Quintis decided to promote you to Captain and to add you to her collection of personal agents.

Your first mission as an agent of the Queen was quite the ordeal, nearly dying to a shape shifting mage, getting stampeded by a mercenary cavalry charge, and getting shot full of arrows as well as stabbed lot. In the end however you stopped the mercenaries attacking imperial caravans, and uncovered that they had been hired by the the rebels to disrupt trade between imperial, and desert merchants.

This is not the end of your troubles however upon returning to the Capital, you find that the rebels weren't just sitting on their hands while you were gone. They had advanced much closer to the Capital and would likely be on your doorstep in weeks. Not one to sit on her hands, the Queen has given you a mission to help prepare for the coming battle by killing off the shamans assisting the rebels.

While the mission was difficult, and you suffered losses, in the end you succeeded. Killing many of the shamans and their supporting troops. With the mission finished, you find yourself waiting while the Queen and her generals decide how to finish off the rebel threat once and for all.

Cassus Burning: Prologue

Cassus Burning Title Card3
The year is 6072 and Emperor Gaius Tryssi IX is languishing on his deathbed. It is only a matter of time before his only son, Imperial Prince Maximilian Tryssi III, assumes his father’s throne. The only thing that stands in his way are the people of the forty worlds of the Cassus Sector.

The Imperial Dynasty has ruled for just over 3 millennia, but with the licentious and exceptionally cruel behavior exhibited by the Imperial Heir following his father’s illness, voices throughout the sector are calling for an end of the monarchy before a tyrant ruins everything that has been worked for. Loose pockets of malcontents have begun springing up on systems neglected by their decadent interim ruler. In response, the Heir has sent his Royal Army to put down these ‘uprisings’ with swift and utter brutality.

But the more the Heir tries to solidify his power, the more dissenters rise against him. It’s only a matter of time before they unify against him.

Things started peacefully enough. There were a lot more of members back when the ‘resistance’ was simply a protest here and there, a little graffiti, and shouting at soldiers in the streets, but the Heir just had to push things. He sent a heavily armed relief force to your home planet, Freefall. They were told they were there to put down the ‘rebellion’ that was giving the local garrison so much trouble. And put down they did. The peaceful protestors gathered like clockwork, oblivious to the fresh Royalist troops that had just arrived. As their demonstration began, the Royal Army filed into the street, aimed their guns, and… well you don’t really care to recall what happened after that.

All that matters is that 412 human and 15 of the native reptilian Thelusans died to the government's guns. Throughout the Cassus Sector, opponents to the Crown refer to this event as the Freefall Massacre

After that bloody display of brutality, a real resistance formed in the place of Prince Maximilian’s imagined rebels all across the sector. There were no longer just demonstrations and boycotts. Royalists were regularly assaulted, government assets were vandalized, property stolen or destroyed, and more blatantly treasonous graffiti began to tag imperial buildings and monuments. It was actually after this event that you and your friends also joined the movement. Prior to this you were:

>A disgruntled noble, biding your time to show support for your people.
>A deserter in the Royal Army, too disgusted by the orders to kill civilians to remain in service.
