Before asking for help, please check our list of resources.
If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine.
1) Use a live image and to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

The major issue with qbittorrent is when you download a very large torrent with tons of folders inside and you only want a few ones.
This piece of shit will create the entire folder tree regardless of the folders you select. It just makes a big mess to find what you really downloaded.
Specially when the folders have japanese characters and there is no way to tell in windows easily which folder has more than 0 bytes or not.

Mass storage thread / RAID / NAS / Home server.
I'm looking to help my musician friend keep about 25tb of data backed up safely and affordably. I'm thinking a n4810 4 bay for $250 with 4 10tb shucked drives for $170 each before tax. Links below. I'm thinking RAID 5 to get one drive fault tolerance for 30tb of storage at a total of about $995 after tax. Can /g/ beat that?
Okay, /g/, let's solve this once and for all. Linux or Windows? Which is the better OS. I want a list of pros and cons on both sides. Keep hardware out of the discussion.
What is the best phone at various price points? I don’t know shit about phones becaus I’ve never really thought it mattered. They make calls, sends texts, take photos and browse the web. What’s the difference between a $250 Asus phone and a >$1k iPhone?
But my iPhone 5S is on its last legs and now I’m in the market? What is the best phone, generally, at every $100 price bracket?
I take a fuck tonne of photos, so I’d like a lot of storage and a decent camera, for when I don’t have my mirrorless on me.
How to program a terminator
This is a thread for talking about various conveniences we used to have but no longer do.
One of the biggest for me is programs for managing offline browsing of BBSs with things like QWK, or in UseNet something like slrnpull, which allows for you to pull down new posts and push up new posts, with unread ones being highlighted. You could run the script, wait a few moments, then have everything new waiting for you. No browsing around, no bookmarks and tabs, just a lot of time saved. Even RSS feeds are a long way removed from such a convenient and time-saving system.
Another would be downloads. Once they were regular links, meaning you could stick them all in your download manager; now they're JS links that if you do paste the "download link" in to a manager it will just download the file that links to the file you actually wanted.
Is a hole punch the future before in-display cameras become feasible, or is the notch a better compromise? The attached image is a mock-up of what the status bar would look like on the Galaxy S10.

Ambiguous. The symbol for the bit is 'bit'. Better write "kilobit".
Furthermore, please remember, division is indicated by a horizontal line, by a solidus (oblique stroke, /) or by negative exponents (i.e.: not a 'p').
Due to 4channel's limitations, the only option available here is the solidus, for example:
